Me Too! Really!

2:17! Where has the day gone?? And I still have a trip to the store to make.

Journey. Journey Magazine that is.  If you don’t have access to one and you can, I highly recommend them.  It was asking me questions today.  May I ask the same of you? And will you answer?

In what ways does media influence you?
What do you believe about yourself or others that is a direct result of marketing?

Journey went on to say renewal of the mind is a process of transformation. The media want to transform us from who we are to who ‘they’ desire us to be: People who buy their products so we can be beautiful, skinny, smarter, healthier, enlightened, and so on. And the news media what do they want us to be? Just like them – politically correct.  You know what? I’ve just about had it up to here with politically correct. But that is not where I want to go with this, not today . :)

So tell me. How many of those ‘to be-s’ do you wish to be?

Beautiful?
Me too!  I’ve always wanted to be beautiful, but have never believed (except for one day) I am.  Media helped convince me I am not. Shame on them! Shame on me for believing them. Here’s what I should believe.

Song of Solomon 6:4 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
4 “You are as beautiful as Tirzah, my darling, As lovely as Jerusalem, As awesome as an army with banners.

via Song of Solomon 6:4 NASB – You are as beautiful as Tirzah my – Bible Gateway.

So should you.

Smarter?
Me too!  But let us get real here! Are we really going to allow this sin saturated, money-grubbing, reprobate-minded media to continue to ‘transform’ us or are we going to believe the CREATOR of THE UNIVERSE?! Really!

1 Corinthians 2:16 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
16 For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.

via 1 Corinthians 2:16 NASB – For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD – Bible Gateway.

Philippians 4:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

via Philippians 4:7 KJV – And the peace of God which passeth all – Bible Gateway.

And now for the one you have been expecting, the one you can quote and the one we better start acting on. Really!

Romans 12:2 King James Version (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

via Romans 12:2 KJV – And be not conformed to this world but – Bible Gateway.

So! How will you answer Journey’s questions?

As I was catching up on some reading in my Journey Magazine for last Friday, I read these words: “When you really care for someone you speak the truth, even when it’s difficult.”
Would y’all consider that a reminder and more confirmation?
I’m still praying for those who said yes for prayer in this regard.

It has been Monday all day! :)

I really do like the new lay out of The White Stone.  If you read by email, you don’t get the benefit of seeing the web page.  But you can! Just click the title of today’s post near the top in the body of your email and that will direct you to the website.  :)

Tonight’s  supper is vegetable beef soup — just some Thompson trivia!

Truthfully, I’m not in much of a writing mood today; but I’m trying to get computer time done before my beloved gets home – not that he minds but just thinking it’s not too late in this new year to practice some good habits.  The FlyLady would be proud! Yep! still hanging out with the FlyLady. Some days I fly better than others. But my sink’s shiny before I go to bed each night. :)

One more word and this one is from ABBA I am sure. It would do us well to meditate upon it this Tuesday or any day:

James 1:5 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Third Monday of 2012.

Can you believe it?

So how is this new year going for you? Did you make New Year’s Resolutions? And are you still keeping them? Just curious.

Did you enjoy yesterday’s You Tube? Have you really meditated the words lately?

1.      Just as I am, without one plea,

but that thy blood was shed for me,

and that thou bidst me come to thee,

O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

2.      Just as I am, and waiting not

to rid my soul of one dark blot,

to thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,

O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Just as I am, without one plea – no more trying to be good enough! And no more looking for other ways, no more looking to myself or others to save me; finally now standing on only one sure FACT: that the blood of JESUS CHRIST is enough to save ME! And moreover that HE, The Lamb of God, is offering His salvation to ME! And I am saying YES!

Now, isn’t that what this verse is proclaiming? Let us look at verse two.

Just as I am, and waiting not – no more excuses, no more ‘not now(s)’ but today; today is the day! Today I say yes. Today I will be rid of this deep dark emptiness. Today I will be clean; today not one sin will remain clinging to me; today The Lamb of GOD is making me clean. Today I come, just as I am to Him.

There are four more verses. You try it.

1 Chronicles 17:16 The Message (MSG)
16-27 King David went in, took his place before God, and prayed:

Who am I, my Master God, and what is my family, that you have brought me to this place in life? But that’s nothing compared to what’s coming, for you’ve also spoken of my family far into the future, given me a glimpse into tomorrow and looked on me, Master God, as a Somebody. What’s left for David to say to this—to your honoring your servant, even though you know me, just as I am? O God, out of the goodness of your heart, you’ve taken your servant to do this great thing and put your great work on display. There’s none like you, God, no God but you, nothing to compare with what we’ve heard with our own ears. And who is like your people, like Israel, a nation unique on earth, whom God set out to redeem as his own people (and became most famous for it), performing great and fearsome acts, throwing out nations and their gods left and right as you saved your people from Egypt? You established for yourself a people—your very own Israel!—your people forever. And you, God, became their God.

So now, great God, this word that you have spoken to me and my family, guarantee it forever! Do exactly what you’ve promised! Then your reputation will be confirmed and flourish always as people exclaim, “The God-of-the-Angel-Armies, the God over Israel, is Israel’s God!” And the house of your servant David will remain rock solid under your watchful presence. You, my God, have told me plainly, “I will build you a house.” That’s how I was able to find the courage to pray this prayer to you. God, being the God you are, you have spoken all these wonderful words to me. As if that weren’t enough, you’ve blessed my family so that it will continue in your presence always. Because you have blessed it, God, it’s really blessed—blessed for good!
