Almighty ALL Ways Always

May I share with you something I just noticed or perhaps it is the HOLY SPIRIT bringing it to my attention?

1 Why, Adonai, do you stand at a distance? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble? via PS 10 NASB;CJB – A Prayer for the Overthrow of the – Bible Gateway.

Times of trouble? Hide Yourself? GOD hiding Himself?

Didn’t we just speak of Times of Trouble a couple of days ago? And didn’t the Psalmist pen that ABBA is our Strong Tower in times of trouble?  See HERE.

10 (9) Adonai is a stronghold for the oppressed, a tower of strength in times of trouble. via Psalm 9 NASB;CJB – A Psalm of Thanksgiving for God’s – Bible Gateway.

Yes. There it is ADONAI is a tower of strength in times of trouble.

So what’s the deal? Is GOD a strong tower in times of trouble or not?

I say He is. I say His Strength NEVER diminishes. {11 God also said to him, “I am God Almighty; . . .    via Genesis 35:11 NASB – God also said to him, “I am God – Bible Gateway.}  HE says so too. He is ALL Mighty, in ALL Ways Always.

Again, I ask: What’s the deal?

We believe the Penman of these Psalms to be David. In Psalm 9 he is saying GOD is a strong tower in times of trouble; in Psalm 10 he is saying where are You GOD? Is there a contradiction here? Not with GOD. Is David human? Oh, yeah! Just like you and me! Does DADDY GOD understand? For sure! For sure! HE does! Is HE still the Strong Tower even when we doubt and question and feel sorry for ourselves and rail on Him because we can’t see what HE is doing? Absolutely!  What did HE say in Hebrews?

Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money; and be satisfied with what you have; for God himself has said, “I will never fail you or abandon you.” via Hebrews 13:5 NASB;CJB – Make sure that your character is free – Bible Gateway.

Even David was prone to forget the faithfulness of GOD and become dissatisfied with his present situation; but sooner or later he always repented.

There’s hope for you and me!

Yep! GOD is still our Strong Tower even when we can’t SEE Him!

Rejoice in your weekend! Our DADDY GOD is STILL on His Throne! HE is still the ALMIGHTY!

Ponder and Pray

I will sing to Adonai, because he gives me even more than I need. via Psalm 13 NASB;CJB – Prayer for Help in Trouble. – For the – Bible Gateway.

He gives me more than I need.

Is that not the truth?!

Shall we consider what it is exactly that we do NEED to live another day?

Oxygen.
We have to have that otherwise we cannot breathe. Check. Got that.

Food.
I mean think about it. How often have you gotten into a minor tiff with hubby because neither of you could decide WHERE or WHAT you wanted to eat? Seriously. It happens! We have an abundance! See Psalm 37:25.

Water.
It is still my grateful opinion that one of the greatest privileges and blessings we have in America is a daily hot shower! Think about that! What does a daily hot shower really mean? Go ahead, count the abundant blessings surrounding getting that daily hot shower to you. Nearly endless aren’t they? And then think of the many peoples of this world forced to ration their drinking water! And often that water is filthy, and filled with disease! Can we say we live in luxurious abundance?!

Clothing – shelter from the elements.
Any of us wake up naked and on the street this morning?

No? Me neither! Every Thing you and I have beyond the basics listed is abundance!

The Word says HE GIVES ME MORE THAN I NEED.

Why does He do that?

Now that is something to ponder, isn’t it?

One more point.

The verse also says I will sing to Adonai.

So am I?

And what am I singing? His praises? Am I counting my blessings? Am I just overwhelmed at His goodness to me? Am I just flat-out awe-struck at His generosity to me?

Or am I crying (singing) the blues because I don’t have _____________?

Pondering and Praying: ABBA, what would You have me do with all this more than I need that You have given me? It occurs to me that what I do with this abundance will clearly indicate just how much I love You. Oh I pray I love You well.

Strong Tower

Just something to put on today. Feels better than a soft, warm sweater on a cold, damp day.

10 (9) Adonai is a stronghold for the oppressed, a tower of strength in times of trouble. via Psalm 9 NASB;CJB – A Psalm of Thanksgiving for God’s – Bible Gateway.

A tower of strength in times of trouble.
That’s Who He is. And who of us does not need a tower of strength?

The LOFT – One Word for 2015

It’s The LOFT time again! The Loft: A weekly Hangout and Link Up for Christian bloggers

Graphic by Kerry Messer

One word.

No.

Whatever confronts me in this 2015, whatever requires a response, I want that response to be based in faith. And so as a steady rule of thumb, if an instant response is demanded, tomorrow is too late, got to tell me now, and I don’t already have a clear direction of faith about it … well, then the answer is NO. Just No.

But, it’s more than just no. It’s No Fear! I want to walk in faith this year, not fear!

Truly, I do not expect to have no bouts of fear in 2015. It’s going to happen. I know it. You know it. But what I am impressed to cultivate is learning day by day, decision by decision to make that decision based on truth and faith and reason and right. I want to look at those yet to be situations, and questions, and opportunities, and dilemmas, and disagreements, and purchases, and make a decision, determine a course of action based on faith not fear. Based on what does GOD say in His Word about this? Do I have a check in my SPIRIT and if I do what is HE saying about this?

I don’t want to do this or that because I am afraid if I don’t so and so will not like me anymore.

I don’t want to say this or that or refrain from saying this or that because I’m afraid he or she will be offended and reject me.

I don’t want to make decisions about parties, events, whatever the invite might be based on the fear of what will happen if I don’t show.

You see what I mean?
I want my decisions in 2015 to be faith-based, not fear based!  So here’s to learning to say NO.
No to fear.
And YES to Faith!

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. On the contrary, love that has achieved its goal gets rid of fear, because fear has to do with punishment; the person who keeps fearing has not been brought to maturity in regard to love. via 1 John 4:18 KJV;CJB – There is no fear in love; but perfect – Bible Gateway.
