Walk, Stand, Sit

How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! via Psalm 1 NASB;CJB – BOOK 1 -The Righteous and the Wicked – Bible Gateway.

Walk, stand, sit.

I see a progression.

But lets visit another walk, stand, sit story.

You will find it in Luke 24 {source}. Two were walking; another joined them; the three talked as they walked; they stopped; the two asked the Third to dine with them; when they sat for bread, they saw He was the Bread of Life and He was alive!

It matters who we walk with. It matters who we stand with. It matters who with sit with.

Psalm 1 warns us to walk not, stand not, sit not with unrepentant sinners. Luke 24 promises us walking with, standing with, sitting with the LORD will ensure we be not unrepentant sinners!

Nothing More

As I sit to find some words for the page it’s nearly ten o’clock in Lower Alabama. The first day of 2015 is nearly spent! It has been a pleasure! I hope your introduction to your new year has been equally pleasing.

For inspiration I took a peek at the devotion for January 2 in my Journey Magazine. As one might expect it’s about time and our good use of it, or our not so good use of it. However, a particular sentence leaped from the page for me. Perhaps it will you too.

“God doesn’t expect us to do everything; He expects us to do what He has called us to.”

That is settling sweet on my soul right about now.

One more nugget comes to mind before I put this post to press.

Recently JT and I watched a movie: Mercy Rule. We liked it! A lot!

Here’s the line that stays with me: “This life ain’t perfect but it’s yours, loving it is the best way of living it.”

Whatever day in 2015 I spend fussing about time, I won’t be loving my life. So here’s to me learning to refuse the suggestion that I have EVERYTHING to do – I have what HE has called me to do. Nothing more!

Day One – Verse One

A Verse to ponder this month:

Isaiah 43:19 New King James Version (NKJV)   19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert. via Is 43:19 NKJV;CJB – Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it – Bible Gateway.
