“As you sit quietly in My Presence, remember that I am a God of abundance.”
Jesus Calling. Sarah Young ISBN978-1-59145-188-4 Thomas Nelson Publisher. Nashville, TN. pg. 144.
God of abundance.
The Western World, particularly America, consistently seeks abundance. More. More. More. The consensus often is what we have is not enough. Marketing ads on every media source confirms, entices just one more, this one more thing will satisfy. It doesn’t for hardly a moment.
Abundance. Abundance we have, don’t you think? No other generation in American History has had so much abundance; of things, of stuff, of resources, of technology, and I dare say discontentment and much more as equally unsatisfying.
Why?
19 And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 (AMP)
Liberally supply. That’s abundance with a capital A. I do see a qualifier though: need. What are my needs? What will I die without? Air, water, food, and shelter from the elements. Do I have that? Liberally!
Shall I tell you what caught my attention after God of abundance? Of course I shall! 🙂
As you sit quietly in My Presence.
So that’s the reason media ads are so successful! We consistently hungrily sit open-mouthed with extended hands collecting our wants as we consistently refuse to take our needy souls and sit quietly before the ONE who liberally gives, liberally supplies our every need!
Wow! I think I’m done.
