Number 8

Someone suggested to me recently that the 10 Commandments were out-dated, not enough law for this society. I beg to lovingly differ.

Conflict in point: 15) “Do not steal. Exodus 20

Not camel. Not lamb. Not land. Not tent. Not wife. Not husband. Not children. Not internet information. Not cable TV service. Not medical information. Not money. Not car. Not personal identity.

What part about ‘do not steal’ do we not understand?

Here’s a few question to clarify.
Did you earn it?
Did you buy it?
Did you create it?
Did someone of their own non-coerced volition give it to you because they loved you and/or wanted to help you?

No?
Then if you take it you are a thief! You broke the law. You stole it!

Get it? Got it! Good!

GOD gave us 10 commandments. Man refused to obey them; so man made more laws and is still making laws. And NOT ONE OF THOSE LAWS has EVER transformed ONE human being from being a law-breaker to a law-keeper.

24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Galatians 3 [source]

Life example: There’s a woman. When the speed limit is 45, she drives 45; not because she doesn’t want to go faster; not because she is afraid she will get a ticket from a police officer; but because she loves JESUS and He said to obey every law that does not violate HIM. (Acts 5:29) So she does. Not perfectly, but consistently.

Blunt Love

First we pray for the Holy Spirit’s assistance.

Then we begin a list of every portion of Scripture that we know we are violating and why it is that thus far we have refused to repent and cease to violate those portions of our Father’s Word.

Bluntly it came and lovingly it remains.

Psalm 119:9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. Ps 119:9

This is the random verse that came to me this morning via my Phone App – Daily Bible Inspiration by JoyVerse after publishing this post last night.  I am thinking not a coincident. ❤️

Me Either

I am privileged to know a family in need of our prayers:
Will, his Mom,Sisters,Grandparents and his Dad.
Please just mention their names, ABBA knows the need.

James 5:16 (KJV)
16 . . . The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Do you  have anyone in your circle of family and friends that is without suffering? No? Me either. It only takes a moment of reviewing the faces and all kinds of illnesses and hurts confront our peace. Trusting our LORD and MESSIAH is our hope, our sanity in this crazy, hurt filled world.

Hebrews 12:1-3 (CJB)

12 So then, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us, too, put aside every impediment — that is, the sin which easily hampers our forward movement — and keep running with endurance in the contest set before us, looking away to the Initiator and Completer of that trusting, Yeshua — who, in exchange for obtaining the joy set before him, endured execution on a stake as a criminal, scorning the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Yes, think about him who endured such hostility against himself from sinners, so that you won’t grow tired or become despondent.

Flexibility

I am hearing as I sit before this page that we must be flexible, that the world changes and our doctrine must change; we cannot say with no flexibility this is my doctrine.

Hebrews 13:8 KJV

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

We must be flexible. We must not be dogmatic. We must allow ourselves to evolve. We must change as the world changes.

How does that strike you?

Flexibility. Can be a great thing! It just might keep you out of the Chiropractor’s office. However, in the area of Biblical Doctrine, flexibility just might land you on a Psychiatrist’s couch.

Some things, Folks, just do not change. And those unchangeable things are clearly defined and described by GOD in His Word (the Bible).

There once was a man and to him another said don’t you think you are rather closed-minded with all this Bible stuff; to which he replied, perhaps, but I can afford to be, I have believed rightly.

So. As to those unchanging doctrine revealed in ABBA’s Word, I have believed rightly. On some of those ‘rib’ issues I am still learning. 🙂

Inside my Head

It’s not the first time; likely not the last that I thank the Father that He knows my thoughts. It comforts my soul that He is inside my head; my heart too.

Psalm 139  (NASB)

O Lord, You have searched me and known me.

You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar.

You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold, O Lord, You know it all.

Did you read the verses? Slowly? Did you take in the comfort?

Look what follows: Where can I go to escape your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

The answer is NO PLACE!

Another question. Why do we try? Why do we even attempt to flee His Presence? I figured that out some time ago – sin! Habitual, on purpose sinning makes us feel dirty and unworthy, so we hide like Adam and Eve. (See Genesis 3:8 please) And HE comes for us even as He did for them.

He seeks us. He calls us. There can only be one reason for that.

He loves us. Let us love Him back.
