Last week I posted Dear Younger Me, the video by Mercy Me. Off and on since then I have continued to listen to it. As it streams, I think of my Grand-babies – they are not younger me(s) but they do have some of those genes if you know what I mean. :)
And so for them my heart’s cry is Dear Younger You(s) please hear. Please hear that you are loved and the Cross of JESUS is where you will find LIFE and more fun and adventure and purpose that you will find anywhere else! Listen to an old woman who used to be younger too. While all that was did bring me to where I am, for which I am way grateful!; still there was a more direct path that would have been a lot more fun, adventurous and punctuated with higher purposes.
Dear Younger You(s), try that less traveled path with a genuine heart and you will be glad you did. Warning though. Let no one convince you it’s a path for sissies or whiners. Look closely at the lives of those who give you counsel before you heed the words they say — even older me. :)
