What Do You Mean?

Unguarded and/or mindless conversation is a luxury we can no longer afford. Let me give you a picture.

The time has arrived wherein entering a casual conversation is a potential minefield.
Unless you are well acquainted and/or have prayed with the person with whom we are speaking, ascertaining from whence they have come to the conversation is imperative. See my illustration just there to the right.

Yeshua told us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. (Matthew 10:16) We cannot do that if our tongues have no filter. You see, it is not the Government that is responsible, nor should it be, to govern our words – it is we. And for the Christian that Filter must be our Father’s Word, guided by Holy Spirit.

Yeshua gave perfect counsel always – still does. One day He said this:
Matthew 7:6  (AMP)
“Do not give that which is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, for they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.  source

Let me give you my 21st Century KWT paraphrase reversed understanding of that verse. When you encounter a soul who has already deemed your beliefs old-fashioned, long out of date, and in this society, even hate-speech – don’t waste your words.
You are already a pig to them, keep talking and they will call the butcher to come for you.

Does that me we cease to share with others our old-fashioned, soul-saving, keep you out of hell GOSPEL?
Absolutely not!
But do wait on Holy Spirit to tell you — this one has potential! This one has an open mind and a hungry heart.

  1. I agree 100 %. I have found keeping my own counsel is the best way till I hear the other person’s leanings! I encountered such Haye filled people at the hospital recently that they did not even try to hide their contempt for our present Commander in Chief. I simple did not respond to the remarks made in my presence. It bothered me though and I asked another employee if it was policy to air political grievances to patients. He said No and they could be reprimanded or fired. I do not understand how people can be so hate-filled! They are blinded by any truth that is out there. They do not believe they will go to hell or even get in trouble now! I came away very sad for this woman. I prayed for her.

    • I am sorry you encountered that. I can understand how grievous and hurtful it was for you. Over and over again I am reminded: wise as serpents, harmless as doves. That is our calling. Thank you for your faithfulness to our LORD and your love and friendship to me.
