Does this verse mean we cannot be The LORD’s Disciples if we hold on to ANY THING, like houses, vehicles, jobs, money, even people? Kinda.

It means count the cost. I hope you will get your Bibles and back up in the chapter. There you will find a king counting the cost.

Count the cost. What does it cost to follow JESUS? Everything we got? Yes.

Yes in the sense that everything we have we are to hold not with a clenched fist, but with an open palm. An open palm that says it’s all Yours, LORD, take it from me or leave it with me, it’s Yours.

There’s another cost I need to mention. Counting the cost of sin. What will it cost us? What does the Bible say? The wages of sin is death, isn’t that what it says in Romans 6:23? So, count the cost of sin. Is the temporary pleasure of sin worth not knowing JESUS forever? It’s a decision every human makes.
