I Made It!

I heard a new-to-me song tonight, which made me think, and it settled in.

I Made It.
That’s the name of the song. A group called Promised sang it tonight, and I found it on YouTube by Cain, probably the ones who sang it first.

But let me get to my reason for writing tonight, for you to read this morning. Here’s a link to the lyrics; I really hope you will read them. HERE

In my Christian circle, I have noticed we speak of our failures more easily than our victories, as if to speak of our victories is somehow the opposite of humble. This song gave me a perspective that I am appreciating! Look:

I’m comin’ out the other side stronger
One foot in front of the other
Hands still raisin’, heart still praisin’
I made it, I made it, I made it, I made it

Through the storms, the hell and high water
I never left the hands of my Father
Lungs still breathin’, thank You, Jesus
I made it, I made it, I made it, I made it

Pardon me if I am wrong. But to be able to look back at a hard siege, and with humble pride be able to say I didn’t betray You, I didn’t lose faith, I didn’t fail to trust You, You kept me from falling, from stumbling! I made it!
Somehow, I think we have missed that being able to say I made it is honorable. It is a glory to our Great GOD; it demonstrates what HE can do in us!

This kind of saying, ” I made it, ” is not patting ourselves on the back; rather, it is our arms outstretched, our face toward heaven, tears washing our soul, and shouting a hallelujah of praise to our King that HE has made us faithful!

Oh, yes! We need more of these I Made It(s) in the Body of CHRIST!

Anybody agree?
