Follower of Yeshua. Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother. Some call me a teacher. Some say I'm a prayer warrior. A few accredit me with some writing skills. Me? I say I'm a work in slow progress, looking for perfection in eternity and until then having all the holy fun I know how.

Happy Birthday, Momma

Some believe when you’re dead – you’re dead. Nothing more. We live. We die. That’s it.

My Mother was born 100 years ago today. One hundred years. She has been gone from this mortal life as we know it for 15 years. She didn’t make it here until her 85th birthday anniversary.

And I sit here today especially missing her.

One hundred years. Such a short time for someone as beautiful as her. I can still see her smile. And seeing her smile gives me one too.

So I am not going to remember her with sadness today. Because I and she are two people who believe that when you leave mortal life here you open your eyes somewhere else.
Because we never die IF we have ever LIVED.

And I could end this here but I won’t because someone somewhere just might want to know what she means if we have ever lived we never die.

There is one who can answer that. His NAME is JESUS.

John 11: 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Well, do you?
Mother and I do.

These are two of my favorite pictures of my Momma. One, so young, so in love with my Daddy; and two, still young even in her mid-seventies, still beautiful, and still smiling.
And this is me, some weeks ago,  me_n

Win Some

Daily writing prompt
What makes a teacher great?

What makes a teacher great?
Great question.  smile

Knowledge, of course, right?  A teacher must know whereof she/he speaks.  I mean, how can a teacher impart what she does not know. Correct? So what else do they need?  How about this?
A great teacher will invite us to learn, observe, and help us garner the information given.
I’d say what really makes teachers great is being a winsome soul with a well-trained mind.
Yes, winsome teachers, win some (or most) of their students to great learning.

Spot-less

Romans+10-13+Whoever+Calls+On+The+Name+Of+The+Lord+Shall+Be+Saved+brown-2394072552As some of you know I am reading, slowly, through the Bible, not necessarily all in this one year of 2024, but reading through all the same. In my reading, I took note of sacrifices.
If you have read the early Books, you saw the innumerable lambs, goats, rams, doves, and pigeons sacrificed. Constant blood-shed. There was a reason for that. There is no remission of sin without the shedding of blood (Hebrews 9:22) and all this pointed to YESHUA who would come and His sinless Blood would be shed as The Sacrifice for sin.

Today I read this again for the first time.
1 Peter 2:5.  5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Many times I have been thankful that it is no longer necessary for animal sacrifices to be made; that we do not have to take an animal every time we sin, go before a priest, and sacrifice that spot-less animal in our place for the sin we committed.

However, 1 Peter 2:5 told me sacrifices are not over; spiritual sacrifices are required of us and I am thinking daily; perhaps multiple times daily.

Here’s my note to myself: Oh my! In the Old Testament, they were constantly offering up sacrifices, bloody sacrifices, but now JESUS is that Blood Sacrifice. And we are NOW to offer up spiritual sacrifices and they will be acceptable because of JESUS.
Spiritual Sacrifices.
Am I offering them?
Am I daily coming to make sacrifices on the Spiritual Altar of my life?

It’s a valid question, don’t you think?
