One of the best words I can give you today comes from Deuteronomy 20. I’ll give you a link. Deuteronomy 20:3, 4.
. . . Do not be afraid, or panic, or tremble [in terror] . . .
for the LORD your God is He who goes with you . . .
Goes with you to class, to work, to confront, to comfort, to the memorial service, to the store for groceries, or clothes, or shoes. He goes with you. Today!
As I begin this post to publish come morning I am counting gifts; my life is one huge gift with treasures loaded each day. Today one of my treasures went HOME. After many months of trying to keep cancer at bay, she closed her eyes here to open them THERE. I miss her already. Her laugh. Her generosity. Her eager intellect. She was a sponge for the Word of GOD. She was/is my Sister in JESUS and my friend.
2 Corinthians 5: 1 For we know that if the tent, our earthly home, is torn down, we have a building from God—a home not made with human hands, eternal in the heavens.
5 Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge. 6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—7 for we walk by faith, not by sight—8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.source
There was a song sang recently. A popular song. A good song. Yet, when I heard it, when I read the lyrics, that analytical me, even critical me kicked in.
Lyrics:
Our Father everlasting
The all creating One
God Almighty
Through Your Holy Spirit
Conceiving Christ the Son
Jesus our Savior
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the name of Jesus
Our Judge and our Defender
Suffered and crucified
Forgiveness is in You
Descended into darkness
You rose in glorious life
Forever seated high
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the name of Jesus
I believe in You
I believe You rose again
I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the name of Jesus
For I believe in the name of Jesus
For I believe in the name of Jesus
I believe in life eternal
I believe in the virgin birth
I believe in the saints’ communion
And in Your holy Church
I believe in the resurrection
When Jesus comes again
For I believe, in the name of Jesus
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the name of Jesus
For I believe in the name of Jesus
Lyrics taken from Here.
It’s a great song, isn’t it? Here’s my critique. It takes more than believing all this for one to actually be assured of Eternal Life. Seriously. It does. For you see Satan and all his demons believe all this. They know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is all true. They witnessed it and they are still bound for hell. SeeJames 2, specifically 19 – 26.
It takes more than knowledge. It takes more than acquiesce. If you have questions or would like more information, I invite you to write a comment or contact me via email.
We got to do better than the devil if we are going to get to Heaven.
We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
