Day 20

Day 20 of The Giving of Thanks.

The Bible.
I am giving thanks for The Bible. I am thankful for Scripture. I am thankful The Bible has been preserved for me. And for you. It is a miracle that 40 Penman over a span of 1,500 years recorded the Bible as GOD spoke and we have it still today. The Bible has been opposed, banned, burned, rejected, and most sadly of all I think, disbelieved and left on the shelf to collect dust.

Ephesians 2:19 in part says we were made members of the household of GOD.”
As members of His household, what a shame we do not read the Letter our Father sent us.

Verse 20 of the same Chapter says we have been built on the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets – JESUS Himself being the Chief Cornerstone. How is it that we think we can successfully build our lives without the Chief Cornerstone?

I know some of you will this day give thanks with me for your very own copy of Scripture. And you will this day open and read it; you will pray over it and ask The Father how do YOU want me to embrace and obey this reading of Your Word? And it is people like you GOD will work through to save the world!

Day 19

Day 19 of The Giving of Thanks

Books.
Lots and lots of books and for the authors who write them and for times and days to read them. For shelves to hold them and for LOVE who built those shelves. For notes taken on the pages of a few, and for underlinings in yellow, blue, green, or pink and completion dates logged at the end. The gift of reading. Let us not take it for granted.

Revelation 20:12 (NLT) 12 I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books.   source

Daniel 7:10  (AMP) 10 “A river of fire was flowing And coming out from before Him; A thousand thousands were attending Him, And ten thousand times ten thousand were standing before Him; The court was seated, And the books were opened.source

Acts 28:23  (AMP) 23 When they had set a day for Paul, they came to his lodging in large numbers. And he carefully explained [Christianity] to them from morning until evening, solemnly testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, both from the Law of Moses and from the [writings of the] Prophets. source

Day 18

Day 18 of The Giving of Thanks.

Salvation.
Mine! 11/18/1975 at just about 9:00 PM.
It was long labor to birth me into the Kingdom of GOD but there was a brother willing to wage the war. He is now with JESUS, has been for a long while now.

I remember the night yet. I remember the moment I agreed to trade my wretched sins for JESUS’ Righteousness. I remember well finally acknowledging to the LORD of GLORY that I was a hell-deserving sinner, while HE assured me that HIS SACRIFICE was enough to save even me.
I believed HIM.
I said Thank you.
And I am certain HE said, You’re welcome.
Neither of us has ever been sorry.

Day 17

Day 17 of The Giving of Thanks.

Today’s Technology.  Particularly photography.
Yes. I am much thankful to live in this current time. Even though this present time is over-run with depravity, I am rejoicing in what GOD uses for our good.
Pictures.  Pictures preserve for us what is presently not near to hold. I appreciate that. And there are literally thousands, yes, thousands of others but some privacy is appropriate. :)

I hope you enjoy a little look into some of my memories.  Happy Tuesday to you all.  Let us continue in The Giving of Thanks.

Day 16

Day 16 of The Giving of Thanks.

African Violets.
The violets and more represented in this picture give me reasons to give thanks. These purple lovelies are a gift from one gone to Heaven. The framed watercolor of a fine Artist I call my friend. The shell gathered longer ago than I remember walking the beach with JT. The glass shelf, a labor of love. Memorabilia. When it brings us to thanks, it’s a really good thing.

Joshua 4

19 Now the people came up from the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and they camped in Gilgal on the east border of Jericho. 20 And those twelve stones which they took out of the Jordan, Joshua set up in Gilgal. 21 Then he spoke to the children of Israel, saying: “When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, ‘What are these stones?’ 22 then you shall let your children know, saying, ‘Israel crossed over this Jordan on dry land’; 23 for the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over, 24 that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”  source

And so today my desire and my hope are in days very soon that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”
