New Focus

Hello Friends,

It was not my intent to leave you in the middle of Luke.
Forgive me, please.

We are about to wrap up this year of 2024 and what a year it has been!
Not one I shall soon forget. GOD has been GOOD!
My beloved is continuing to recover here at home after a recent hospital stay, our family was here, and we loved on one another and rejoiced. Our hearts are full of gladness and our bodies are way tired! 😊

Shall we now turn our hearts to reflection and focus on our Heavenly Father and the adventures He will bring across our paths in 2025? Shall we in this coming week make provisions to leave behind the sins that have easily beset us this year?

1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12 LINK to source

Shall we receive courage from The Holy ONE to forgive more easily, to let us lay not our heads on pillows to sleep with malice poisoning our minds? Shall we listen carefully and hear our family and friends with the benefit of the doubt? Shall we listen to HOLY SPIRIT and respond to Him quickly and favorably? These are just a few of the things coming to mind tonight.

Day 12 – I Get it.

Day 12

Luke 12.BSB

Do you remember on Day 10 we said YESHUA does not mince words?
In our passage today we have another example.

Luke 12: 49-53. This passage may be shocking but let’s examine it.

49 I have come to ignite a fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!
50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!
51 Do you think that I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I tell you, but division.
52 From now on, five in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three.
53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.

These verses no doubt have more to say than I comprehend but I think I get something from them.
I get that The Prince of Peace gives peace to those who believe and trust Him. The One who chooses to follow JESUS becomes a new creature, (2 Corinthians 5:17) with a new nature, with new desires, he or she sees the world with different eyes; their wants and desires change as they grow in relationship with JESUS.
The unsaved one, the one not following JESUS does not experience these changes. Therefore, conflicts and divisions between family, friends, people in general are inevitable. Dove-doves-32938530-3488-2616-1733822241

What is one to do to avoid these conflicts and divisions?
Deny JESUS? Refuse to follow Him? Choose family, and friends over Him?

Luke 2: 13 And suddenly there appeared with the angel a great multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying:  14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!”

Do you see? on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!
On whom does His favor rest? Those who believe, trust, and obey The SON.

I get it. It’s not easy but is He worth it? We each will decide that.

Day 11 – Praying

Day 11lightstock_266400_medium_lisa_jacobson-3833088107

Luke 11

In my absence will you read Luke 11 and send me an email or leave a comment drawn from your reading?
Luke 11 starts with what we have for as long as I can remember called The LORD’s Prayer.
Personally, I think it’s the Disciples’ prayer.
I urge you to hear YESHUA praying in John 17 and yes, by all means, study this prayer in Luke 11 and put these precepts into practice — daily in prayer.

Our love to you all.
