Not One, Not Two

Genesis 3:4 The serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die!
via Gen 3 NASB – The Fall of Man Now the serpent was – Bible Gateway.

Do we dismiss him altogether or do we fail to allow ourselves to appropriately score the hatred of Satan? When he said to Eve You surely will not die, he knew differently. He knew he was offering her death; not only to her but the entire human race. He knew when she disobeyed God and took a bite of the forbidden fruit she would then be a rebel against God and that IS ultimately death.  He knew it! He wanted her eternally spiritually dead. He wants that for the entire human race. Is that not the epitome of hatred and evil? And yet who of us has not taken him lightly?

To some he is nothing more than a cartoon character in a red suit with a long tail and a pitch fork. He must think that so humorous and much to his advantage. I see him as having two tactics.

One, the cartoon character as described which is tantamount to non-existent.

Two, he would have us to be so preoccupied with him, seeing a demon behind every bush, that we would be immobilized with fear.

One or two, whichever we choose to believe, Satan wins. Until JESUS that is.

So what should be our position?

So, got your armor on?
Good.
Then we will not play into his hands any longer as did our sister Eve.
We will refuse to believe any more of his lies.
We will give him reason to fear us and not we him.

Today and Forever

Psalm 37:37 Watch the blameless and observe the upright, for the man of peace will have a future.
via Ps 37 HCSB – Instruction in Wisdom Davidic Do not be – Bible Gateway.

Still listening for why or what but this verse, this particular part: for the man of peace will have a future is highlighted for me as I sit this Wednesday to write a Thursday hello to you.

Who doesn’t want a future? But it is the man (woman) of peace who is promised a future. Those refusing peace have no promise of a future. We understand that. The Prince of Peace brings His peace, we accept and we are assured of our future – Eternal Life. That’s easily understood by the saved. Right?

Good. Yet does it mean more? What about now? The here and now that I am living today (Wednesday for me, Thursday for you) – what about that? What’s my future today?

Peace.

In peace my future is prosperous, perhaps not exceedingly abundant materially but surely enough.

In peace my future is certain. Certain that I will have the favor of God residing upon me as well as going before me.

In peace I will be productive. I will carry out missions and tasks in JESUS name for His glory and the good of others and myself.

Week 42

Wednesday! Already?

I have been absent from more than just this screen. And I still am.  I thought I’d just show up here even though I am doubtful that I have anything noteworthy to say.

I did take a sewing lesson today at All About Sewing.  It was fun. If you’d like to check out their website, click HERE. And I’ve been checking out a new organizational website, learned about it at sewing class today. I have not given it a fair evaluation as yet but I have signed up for the email updates and the calendar service. Are you ready? The name is Fly Lady. Click HERE for a link to see what I am talking about.

Did you know there are 10 weeks left in year 2011?

My meditation verse for week 42 is this:

Humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and in His good time He will honor you. Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about what happens to you. I Peter 5: 6-7 NLT

That is worthy of meditating on for a week don’t you think?

Please remember that Wednesday is my day to pray for you by name or email address (if I don’t have your name).  If you have a specific need or request that you would like to share with me, please email me HERE. Otherwise, click HERE and pray for others who so need our prayers!

Let us keep Braving the dark with The LIGHT, together,
Kathie

A Better Offer

We have a week ahead of us that covets your prayers.

I layered the top of my salad with Roma tomatoes immediately after church today thinking we would be sharing it with Jerry’s Mother. That was not to be. She got a better offer this morning – Lunch with JESUS.

The invitation came peacefully and quietly as she slept we believe – what a blessing to begin the journey from here to THERE in just that way.
