A Wednesday Extra

What if?

What if we are seeking the EXPERIENCE of GOD and not actually seeking HIM?

Is that possible?

And what does that look like? How would we know?

How can we tell the difference? Is there a difference?

These are not rhetorical questions. :)

Your help would be appreciated on this 36th day of 2014,

Kathie

14 then, if my people, who bear my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.

Discussion Finished

From the Quill of Paul and the Mouth of GOD: a socially unacceptable message.

2 Timothy 4:1 I solemnly charge you before God and the Messiah Yeshua, who will judge the living and the dead when he appears and establishes his Kingdom:

2 proclaim the Word! Be on hand with it whether the time seems right or not. Convict, censure and exhort with unfailing patience and with teaching.

via 2 tim 4 KJV;CJB – I charge thee therefore before God, and – Bible Gateway.

Jesus will judge ALL people period the end. It’s going to happen. And whether one believes it or not is irrelevant to the fact of its fulfillment. Discussion finished.

Jesus will establish His Kingdom here on earth period the end. It’s going to happen. And whether one believes it or not is irrelevant to the fact of this fulfillment. Discussion finished.

And if that was not socially unacceptable enough we get to verse 2 which is written only to the Followers of Yeshua the Messiah or in the Western World — Jesus the Christ – One and the Same.  And to us, we are commanded by our King and Messiah as He has every right to do, we are commanded to Proclaim the Word. It is not an option period the end.

Let’s put this succinctly: Every Follower of Jesus Christ who is not proclaiming The Word is disobedient.  Discussion Finished.  Of course, Father is eager to discuss, or perhaps a better word, rehearse with us our steps to repentance and restoration.

Next. No off days. Be ready when you want to and when you don’t want to, to Proclaim The Word into every situation He opens for us. And that’s just the way it is.

And finally. Convict, censure, and exhort.

All extremely socially unacceptable in this society – probably was in the 1st Century too – they just didn’t have instant messaging worldwide to stir up the masses.

Convict. Defined as:  To make aware of one’s sinfulness or guilt. via convict – definition of convict by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

Say, wait a minute. I thought that was the HOLY SPIRIT’s job to convict. It is. But obviously, from this Scripture, we are called to be a conduit of His conviction.  Won’t that be a challenge in this world?

Censure. Defined as: To express official disapproval of via censure – definition of censure by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

The word official in the definition of censure really helps me understand.  It is not my disapproval that is to be expressed it is HIS disapproval and what He has approved and disapproved of is clearly revealed in The Word. The  Word we are to proclaim.

Exhort. Defined as: To give urgent advice, recommendations, or warnings. To inspire with confidence; give hope or courage to via exhort – definition of exhort by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

Exhort is a really good word I think. It has both negative and positive aspects. Along with the negative, we give the positive!

Well, that’s a fatal blow to the apathetic live and let live philosophy!

And we do this

with unfailing patience and with teaching

Unfailing patience. However long it takes, however many times the door is opened by the HOLY SPIRIT, keep on keeping on proclaiming The Word.

Matthew 28:19 Therefore, go and make people from all nations into talmidim, immersing them into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh, 20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember! I will be with you always, yes, even until the end of the age.”

via Matthew 28:19-20 KJV;CJB – Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, – Bible Gateway.

Well, I can tell you, my Friends, this comes to me before it comes to you.

Father, this quiets me. I can only agree with You and rely upon You to teach me and guide me to all obedience. Thank You in Yeshua’s Mighty name.

Family Fellowship

. . . for I seek not yours but you:

via 2 Corinthians 12:14-16 KJV;CJB – Behold, the third time I am ready to – Bible Gateway.

Obviously I have taken these seven words from the context of the surrounding verses but you see it is these seven words that highlighted themselves to me.

The Apostle Paul was writing to the Church at Corinth and he was letting them know he was not longing to see them for what they could do for him but for the pleasure of their company. He was not interested in their money, he wanted the warmth and comfort of companionship. He wanted the fellowship of family.

I can’t help but think wouldn’t it bless ABBA if we spent more time just wanting the pleasure of His Company rather than what He can do for us? Someone and I don’t recall who stated it similar to this: seek His Face before we seek His Hand.

So that’s my challenge for myself today to seek ABBA’s Face, His Companionship before giving Him my list of Needs and Wants.

Thank You, HOLY SPIRIT, for making The Father’s Word alive to us. Thank You for turning on the highlighting as we read. And since You have we are confident that You will surely guide us and bring us to the place that we seek Your Companionship even more than Your Storehouse of Blessings. And we Your People agree in JESUS’ Mighty Name.

For me to personally pray with you on this 35th day of 2014, send me an email.
