Image from You Version

I am trusting that the information pictured is accurate. I am speaking of the Roman helmet; we KNOW the Scripture is wholly true.
Helmet of Salvation – making sure our minds have been changed, making sure that we have come into agreement with GOD about sin, about hell, about the grave, about eternity, with our eyes wide open, I might add.
If you will, study the picture a bit along with the Scripture, what do you see?

The weekend is very close — y’all have some holy fun!

What to Do?

Image from You Version

Traveling this Road of Life, as Christians, sometimes we ask, “What does GOD want me to do?”  I think we have our answer.

Looking at the pic, I just wouldn’t resist.
A Fork in the Road?
Food for the Journey?
Where to next, LORD?

Gifts, eager to receive

The Preacher said today that all Christians have Spiritual Gifts, at least two. Then he explained. Salvation. It was our first gift.  And then, according to Scripture, we have been gifted with at least another Spiritual Gift.  (1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

Then he said, and it spoke so clearly to me that I am here to share with you, when we received salvation, we also received forgiveness, grace, and mercy (and more).  Oh, I left out something. The Spiritual Gifts we received are not ours to tuck away. No, they are given to us to help, encourage, and build up our brothers and sisters in the Faith.  Which means the forgiveness we received, we are expected to pass it on — forgive others.  The same with mercy and grace.  Which we can do. We can do this with the help of HOLY SPIRIT. Not only does He give the gifts, He also provides the Power to USE them!

Something to think about, isn’t it?

And then I thought of something else. May I share?
Conviction, Repentance, and Faith.
These are gifts too.  I treasure them!
I am eager for conviction when needed. I am eager for the gift of repentance (to see, acknowledge, and agree with GOD about sin, and turn from it), and I am eternally grateful for the gift of Faith that enables me to believe Him!

This is good to ponder.  I hope you will.

Stripes That Heal

Image from You Version

Isaiah 53.
Please grab your Bible and read the chapter, and as you read, steady your mind on this: Isaiah lived about 2,000 years before JESUS came to earth to secure our redemption. So, 2,000 years before JESUS came, Isaiah prophesied He would come, and He did.
It has now been almost 2,000 years since JESUS said He would return — and He will!  You can count on it!

Perhaps you know, Isaiah is not the only place in Scripture that we read, by His Stripes or as sheep have gone astray.  Please see 1 Peter 2: 22-25.

May I tell you what I think? Please know up front, I am not denying in any way that by His Stripes we are healed in the sense we usually think of it (sickness and disease), but I am convinced there is a truth in this that we may have missed.  First and foremost, by His stripes, when we repent, believe, and receive, He heals us of our going astray. When we are born again, we are no longer lost sheep going astray; we become Children of GOD. By His Stripes, we are reconciled to GOD! We have been bought back from Satan! That, my brothers and sisters, is the greatest, most profound, most awesome act in eternity. He took on our iniquity of going our own way and HEALED us! Think of it: To be healed of going astray! I am profoundly grateful! You too?
