Ricochets and Boomerangs

The month of May; the month I think about baggage. It’s the time a certain beloved man said,”I don’t need any baggage.” and I said, “Well, I got some.”

Baggage. We don’t have to live long on the planet before it begins to collect. Some have no memory of a time without baggage. But that’s another story.

Baggage. It clutters our relationships, often to suffocation and divorce.

Why?

Because there is One Baggage Handler and we often refuse to check our baggage with HIM. We just keep carrying it on-board every relationship, every marriage.

Baggage. It makes us thin-skinned and eventually mean spirited. I see it everywhere. At times in the mirror.
Thin-skinned and mean spirited. That’s when our baggage becomes OUR SIN. Baggage most often begins as someone else’s sin perpetrated upon us. And we pick it up and trudge on.

Why?

Baggage makes us projectors. Into each relationship we project what was – expecting . . .  and we are disappointed. Why? Because he/she/we cannot measure up to those projections. None of us!
And we all do it! ALL!

Why?

That’s a good question.

Here’s another one. Why do we refuse to check our baggage with THE BAGGAGE HANDLER?  (pic borrowed)

I know the answer to that one!
It has to do with how our mirror is facing. In or out. Oh. And our Bibles. Are they facing us or facing out?

Got it? Yep! Square in my face!

Matthew 11: (AMP) 28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation] .source

Murders.
Mark 7

Now this one would appear straightforward and exact, wouldn’t it? And it is.  But let us check; what does Webster 1828 have to say?
Noah 1828. To kill a human being with premeditated malice.

The killing of people with premeditated malice happens every day around the world. No wonder we need a Savior to redeem us and transform us! We are a depraved and unholy people!

With a reading of Matthew 5 in context, perhaps we could agree that murder begins in the heart and that JESUS has said if we hate another, we are already guilty of murder in our hearts, even though we have not ceased their breathing.

And then there is 1 John 5:13.

1 John 3:15  (AMP) 15 Everyone who hates (works against) his brother [in Christ] is [at heart] a murderer [by God’s standards]; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.   source

Do you know why Row v Wade was so important to the abortion industry? Noah Webster answers it for us: “The act of unlawfully killing a human being with premeditated malice”
It had to be made LAWFUL so it could continue to be done without legal penalty. From the beginning, it has been murder because from the beginning man has known womb babies are people too.

Murders.
Are we all guilty? Looks like we just might be either by heart or hand.
As I said, no wonder we need a Savior!
I am so grateful I have the One.
Do you?

Until Next Time ` ` `

Shut Up!

That is not the most inviting title for a post, I know, but hear me out. :)

Isaiah 43:1 “Listen to Me in silence, you islands and coastlands, And let the nations gain their strength;
Let them come near, then let them speak; Let us come together for judgment [and decide the issue between us concerning the enemy from the east]. source

Let the Nations gain their strength.  Would we the people of America or any nation desire to gain strength? Rhetorical question.

Then shut up and listen to The LORD GOD.

Let them come near, THEN let them speak.

Until we have come near The LORD GOD of Creation, until we have come together with Him to know His judgment on a matter, we would do well to shut up. And when we have gained His Counsel and we are schooled in His Judgment, speak! Speak, proclaim, and publish it on the rooftops!

Matthew 10:27  (AMP) 27 What I say to you in the dark (privately), tell in the light (publicly); and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim from the housetops [to many people].  source

And there we have it!

Until next time . . . whenever that is! :)
