Embracing

A Confession.
I gifted a few copies of a book at Christmas 2010 that I had not read. I trusted the subject and the source to give it without reading it.

This morning I read it.

I was not disappointed. I am whole-heartedly recommending it.
Reading and embracing what is revealed between the covers of this tiny little book will avert the destruction of lives and families.

I would to GOD that it be read.
Even now, with reading and embracing it’s not too late.

Kathie

Remembrance

This evening at Satsuma First I heard a song perhaps for the first time and I am still thinking of the ministry it was to me. Here’s a link to listen via You Tube.  (some of the graphics in this particular you-tube I wouldn’t have chosen BUT even so I am so grateful for this song, for the lyrics, for what JESUS has said to me tonight. And it is my prayer that you will hear from Him too in it.

In Remembrance
(Ragan Courtney and Buryl Red)

In remembrance of Me eat this bread
In remembrance of Me drink this wine
In remembrance of Me pray for the time
When God’s own will is done

In remembrance of me heal the sick
In remembrance of me feed the poor
In remembrance of me open the door
And let your brother in, let him in

Take eat and be comforted
Drink and remember too
That this is my body and precious blood
Shed for you, shed for you

In remembrance of me always love . . .
Do this in remembrance of Me
Do this in remembrance of Me
In remembrance of Me

This is dovetailing with a book I just finished reading Radical by David Platt.

Heal the sick, feed the poor, let your brother in, do these things in celebration, in honor as an expression of our affection, our love for JESUS.

Luke 22:19 And He took bread, and gave thanks and broke it and gave it unto them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you. This do in remembrance of Me.”

ABBA, Thank You. Thank You, HOLY SPIRIT, for Your ministry to the Body of Christ today. My words are inadequate to convey this message to our IDOKs, I pray You will create it afresh and anew in them individually as You purpose for each of them. I pray for radical repentance and radical living in remembrance of JESUS to begin in each of us.
In these moments, I pray for Dori; we believe the surgery was successful and yet we hear from the doctors that there are yet uncertainties as to complete healing and You are aware of each of them; even so I am asking that You surprise the physicians and do what they cannot do. Please restore Dori to health and vitality. Kerri. I am continuing to ask that You heal her, completely. And Gene (Holcomb) comes to mind; since returning from Brazil something physically is just not right, please heal him and restore him. There are others, many others, recall the list with me, ABBA. Thank You for entrusting us here; sometimes like now I just fumble for words, what to ask, what is needed, what is desired for them all; it’s overwhelming to us; but not to You. Thank You, thank You. None of this surprises You or stumps You, You know just what to do in every life and You are doing it.  Thank You, ABBA, in the mighty name and in remembrance of our Precious and Beloved JESUS. Amen and amen.

Morning

Nothing I could write this morning would be more needed or fitting than this. Please read and heed for yourself and pray all IDOKs will read and heed, including me.
Thank you and a refreshing holy weekend to you!

Morning, July 15

“The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.”

— Leviticus 6:13

Keep the altar of private prayer burning. This is the very life of all piety. The sanctuary and family altars borrow their fires here, therefore let this burn well. Secret devotion is the very essence, evidence, and barometer, of vital and experimental religion.

Burn here the fat of your sacrifices. Let your closet seasons be, if possible, regular, frequent, and undisturbed. Effectual prayer availeth much. Have you nothing to pray for? Let us suggest the Church, the ministry, your own soul, your children, your relations, your neighbours, your country, and the cause of God and truth throughout the world. Let us examine ourselves on this important matter. Do we engage with lukewarmness in private devotion? Is the fire of devotion burning dimly in our hearts? Do the chariot wheels drag heavily? If so, let us be alarmed at this sign of decay. Let us go with weeping, and ask for the Spirit of grace and of supplications. Let us set apart special seasons for extraordinary prayer. For if this fire should be smothered beneath the ashes of a worldly conformity, it will dim the fire on the family altar, and lessen our influence both in the Church and in the world.

The text will also apply to the altar of the heart. This is a golden altar indeed. God loves to see the hearts of his people glowing towards himself. Let us give to God our hearts, all blazing with love, and seek his grace, that the fire may never be quenched; for it will not burn if the Lord does not keep it burning. Many foes will attempt to extinguish it; but if the unseen hand behind the wall pour thereon the sacred oil, it will blaze higher and higher. Let us use texts of Scripture as fuel for our heart’s fire, they are live coals; let us attend sermons, but above all, let us be much alone with Jesus. [1]
