Who Told You That?

Next Question.

May the 11th I posted Fig Leaves proffering the question, Where are you?.

Today it’s Who Told You That.
You can find this question and many others in Beth Moore’s study book The Quest. I recommend it!

A note found in my copy of said study book is I can find my way if I answer GOD’s questions regarding any given situation.

Where are you?
Who told you that?
What are you seeking?
Why are you afraid?
How much more?

Who told you that?

Genesis 3:11  (TLV) 11 Then He said, “Who told you that you are naked? Have you eaten from the Tree from which I commanded you not to eat?” source

Try it. On any given belief or value.
Who told you abortion was not death to a womb baby?
Who told you she meant this when she said that?
Who told you he always does this to me?
Who told you you never do anything right?
Who told you it won’t hurt just this once? But it did.

The source of the telling matters.
Consider the Source.

And how many sources are there at the root of any given issue, question or belief?
Two. Three at the most.
GOD. Satan. Human  (Ephesians 6:12; I John 4:1, 2)

And how many of these sources can you safely trust?

Easy to be Angry

A simple but powerful prayer, if we mean it, from Journey Magazine:

“Thank You, LORD, for reminding me that in this flawed world you still find pleasure in your people. Help me to be determined to keep that goal before me and to choose pleasing You at every opportunity.”

In light of all that I read this day, this prayer is needed! It is so very easy to find the abounding evil in our beloved Nation. BUT GOD is at work and we are invited to join Him.

It’s not wrong for us to be angry with the sins flaunted and celebrated on every digital screen available; however, anger will not get Christianity flourishing.

HERE is a helpful essay. Perhaps you will read it LINK.

Have you ever worried over what another thinks of you? Me too!

I think I’ve heard it before, but I heard it again with freshness this morning!

“What another thinks of you is none of your business – but it is GOD’s – what they think and you think. So stop messing around in His business and mind your own mind with His.”

Philippians 4: (CSB) 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. source

1 Peter 1: (NASB) 13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.   source

And You Version was messing with me too with this from Carol McLeod: “Every single one of us has spoken words “under the influence” of warped feelings and slurred thinking. And we soon wish we had the magical power to take those words back. It’s our thoughts and emotions that determine what words come out of our mouths.”

So at the prompting of the devotional, I have this mission: What Bible verse can I use to help me declutter my mind and keep it in sync with the mind of The Father?”

What verses do you go to when your mind rebels?
