Double Down

If you get to thinking I really messed up this time, read this verse.

Jeremiah 3:22 (NLT)
22 “My wayward children,” says the Lord,
“come back to me, and I will heal your wayward hearts.”
“Yes, we’re coming,” the people reply,

“for you are the Lord our God.  source

And for some double down, we need this:

1 Corinthians 1:26-31  (NLT)
26 Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you.
27 Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.
28 God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.
29 As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.
30 God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.

31 Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.”  source

We all mess up.
We are imperfect.
He knew that when He called us to be His own.
He knew exactly what He was getting when He asked to be YOUR SAVIOR and MINE.
That in and of itself should cause us to love HIM more and more.

And think about this.
Think about the one who loves you more than anyone else on earth.
What happens when you mess up?

They forgive you and their love for you does not even come close, not even light years close to HIS LOVE FOR YOU.

So draw near to the ONE who loves you most.
Double down with Scripture. Double down with praying.

Satan Believes GOD

Have you considered that Satan believes GOD? (James 2:19)
Satan heard GOD say to him that The Savior was coming and from that point, he began to incite people to kill people in hopes he would kill the Messiah before the Messiah could crush his head. (Genesis 3:15)
Cain killed Abel. It was a start. (Genesis 4:8)

Pharaoh set out to kill all the Hebrew baby boys. He missed Moses. Not only did he miss killing Moses but Moses grew up in Pharaoh’s palace.
There are other incidents of human slaughter and even child sacrifice – you can read it for yourself in Scripture if you dare. GOD tells it like it is. He does not hold back the truth. You might look up the word Molech at Biblegateway dot com.

Later, Herod sent his henchmen to kill the Hebrew baby boys 2 years of age and under according to the time of the Star. (Mathew 2:16) Satan missed again. THE MESSIAH LIVED (except for a brief 3 days in the Paradise side of Sheol) and CONTINUES TO LIVE TODAY. (Revelation 22:12)

But Satan still has people killing people; particularly Babies. Satan hates people. He especially hates Babies. And people are so much like Satan when people kill Babies, either in or out of the Womb; either calling it Healthcare or sex trafficking or child abuse.

Satan hates people and we are so like him when we hate and kill each other.

Satan believes GOD yet he has convinced man since the Garden to believe him instead of GOD and we have been killing each other ever since. Obviously, our favorite people to destroy is Babies and children.
Look around.
And you might see. Unless you have chosen not to see.

And just so we do not finish without hope.
There is forgiveness. A clean slate. All sins blotted out and YOU, forgiven.
There is LIFE BRAND NEW for YOU.
And YOU can have it. If you want it.

12 Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. 13 Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,’ says the Lord,  . . . source (See Jeremiah 29)

Anything Familiar?

This was in my reading this morning. It was penned by Jeremiah as given to him by Yahweh perhaps circa 627 – 580 BC (before the coming of the Incarnate Christ to planet earth). Judah was . . . well, read and find out where was Judah. See if you see anything familiar.

Jeremiah 4: 19 My soul, my soul! I writhe in anguish and pain! Oh, the walls of my heart! My heart is pounding and throbbing within me; I cannot be silent, For you have heard, O my soul, The sound of the trumpet, The alarm of war.
20 News of one [terrible] disaster comes close after another, For the whole land is devastated; Suddenly my tents are spoiled and destroyed, My [tent] curtains [ruined] in a moment.
21 How long [O Lord] must I see the banner [marking the way for flight] And hear the sound of the trumpet [urging the people to run for safety]?
22 “For My people are stupid and foolish,” [says the Lord to Jeremiah]; “They do not know Me; They are foolish children And have no understanding. They are shrewd [enough] to do evil, But they do not know [how] to do good.”
23 I looked at the earth [in my vision], and behold, it was [as at the time of creation] formless and void;
And to the heavens, and they had no light.
24 I looked at the mountains, and behold, they were trembling, And all the hills moved back and forth.
25 I looked, and behold, there was no man, And all the birds of the air had fled.
26 I looked, and behold, the fertile land was a wilderness, And all its cities were pulled down Before the [presence of the] Lord, before His fierce anger.
27 Therefore says the Lord, “The whole land shall be a desolation, Yet I will not cause total destruction.

28 “For this reason the earth shall mourn And the heavens above shall become dark, Because I have spoken, I have decided, And I will not change my mind (relent), nor will I turn back from it.”
29 Every city runs away at the sound of the horsemen and archers. They go into the thickets and climb among the rocks; Every city is deserted, And no man lives in them.
30 And you, O desolate one, what will you do? Though you clothe yourself in scarlet, Though you adorn yourself with ornaments of gold, Though you enlarge your eyes with paint, You make yourself beautiful in vain. Your lovers (allies) despise you; They seek your life.
31 For I heard a cry like a woman in labor, The anguish as of one giving birth to her first child, The cry of the Daughter of Zion (Jerusalem), who gasps for breath, Who stretches out her hands, saying, “Woe is me [my judgment comes]! I faint [in fear] before the murderers.source

Feeling, gooey, ooh

“Christmas is what this town is all about.”  “That’s what Christmas is all about.” And on goes the dialogue. You’ve heard it if you have watched any Christmas movies this year.

I’ve watched more than my share – just ask my hubby.  I have not told him yet but I have tired of them. The plot wears thin. Snow that doesn’t nip at your nose or pink up your toes after a while is just white on the screen. This human needs real. All humans need real, don’t we?

I like the warm fuzzies. I like family coming together. I like conflicts resolved. I like friendships that develop into godly romances. I like the underdog coming into her/his own, even stepping up to hero of the day. I like lights and glitter and tinsel and trees and ornaments galore. I like cards and gifts, giving even more than receiving. I like cookies and hot cocoa and candy canes and romantic walks in the snow or cuddling on the front porch swing.  You get the idea. I like the stuff we call Christmas.

But is all this feeling, gooey, ooh — Christmas?  If this is Christmas – GOD wasted a trip! Cause man, woman, boy, and girl needs more! This is surface stuff. Our needs run deep; deep, dark, stanky, cold, rock hard soul places deep where anything but warm fuzzies lives. Where families are torn apart, where conflict resolutions seem impossible, marriages are incinerated, and we are crippled with intimidation or stuffed fuller of ourselves than a Christmas turkey with cornbread dressing.  Now that’s real. That’s what humans are and worse! You know it’s true. (Jeremiah 17:9)

So, why, why did we bury Christmas in feeling, gooey, ooh?  No. I’m asking you. Why did we? Why do we still?

Here’s the deal.

John 3:16 King James Version (KJV)16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. source

But guess what?
That alone did not sell Christmas lights, trees, cards, ornaments, hot cocoa, cars, bikes, ipads, or toys, etc. etc.
But He alone will bring families together, resolve any conflict given to Him, save a marriage, grow courage in the most timid, humble the arrogant, and He just might gift romantic walks in the snow and snuggles on the porch swing and more, plus eternal life to whosoever will believe HIM.

Now that’s Real, folks. And Real is what Christmas is really about. (Yeah, I know 😊 )

Revelation 22:20 The One giving testimony to these things says, “Yes! I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Yeshua! 21 May the grace of the Lord Yeshua be with all!   source
