Some days ago, I was part of a circle of Friends praying, and this happened: she prayed for the LORD to consume us. I instantly said within my own thoughts, Father, what does that mean? Consume us? And instantly, I remembered an account in Scripture about Sacrifices and that when they were acceptable to Father GOD, fire would come down from heaven and consume them.
2 Chronicles 7: 1 When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. source
There are likely more Scriptures addressing this, but for that moment and even now, this is sufficient for me to understand the request and the desire to be acceptable to The LORD, (and in CHRIST JESUS we certainly are!) and to have Him come by His Spirit and fill us, as He did Solomon’s Temple that day; to burn up and rid us of the bondage of besetting sins that keep us from fellowshiping with Him as He desires.
I am rejoicing in His instant response that day, and I am grateful that even when His Reply is longer than I like, He still answers.
So, my Treasured Friends, I hope your Questions are answered instantly today, but even if they are not, I hope you will rest easy that He will answer.
Observed the first Monday in September, Labor Day is an annual celebration of the social and economic achievements of American workers. The holiday is rooted in the late nineteenth century, when labor activists pushed for a federal holiday to recognize the many contributions workers have made to America’s strength, prosperity, and well-being.

And so, since June 28, 1894, Labor Day has been a Federal holiday here in America. The first Labor Day parade is depicted here:
And so, today, some will rest from their customary work, while others will attend their jobs as usual. As you would expect from me, I have to tie this to Scripture. For sure I do!😊
Rest. Because of the Unsurpassed Labor of the LORD JESUS, you and I have REST. Rest from the labor of trying to save ourselves! We have and can continue RESTING in the Finished Work of Our Savior. That’s really good news, any day, not just today!
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.KJV
So I have to ask, are you laboring today or resting?
We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
