I opened Romans 12 just for the pleasure of reading, and for listening.

My first stop was verse 1 – living sacrifice; not a dead one, a living one. JESUS loves life. He wants us to do the same. It’s only reasonable.  :)

Romans 12 (TLV) 12:1 I urge you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice—holy, acceptable to God—which is your spiritual service.   source 

Next stop. Verse 2 and we may hang out here till the end of this post.

Romans 12 (TLV) 12: 2 Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect. source

Accepting the call of verse 1 makes verse 2 imperative.  Do NOT be conformed to this world.

How is the world? It won’t take prolonged exposure to media sources to answer that question with many adjectives.  So I’ll pick one.

Sameness.

Actually sameness is a noun but it seems descriptive enough here for my purposes.

The world is clamoring, rioting and when it deems expedient, subliminally training us that we are all the same; even attempting to blur the lines of rudimentary sexuality.  Another push is the demand that we must laud all the world’s belief systems, all the world’s values (or lack thereof) with equal dignity and respect.

If all this is too convoluted for you; here’s my summary: if the world is insisting it is right, in all probability it’s wrong. We have one safe place to go to gauge everything.  The Word of GOD interrupted by the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD.

Continuing with verse 2. Do NOT be conformed BUT be TRANSFORMED.

Let me be blunt, the growing trend I see in Christendom is I would rather see you go to hell than for me to hurt your feelings.  This violates verse 1 and verse 2.

Verse 3 – Haven’t gotten there yet.  :)

Silent Majority

I read a blog post recently; it was a timely and well written essay and when I reached the end the comment section was closed. What an excellent idea!

Obviously I am not the only one over done with this transgender bathroom, all things related to the LGBT movement. I have a plan; at least for me. From my window, I have a clear view of nature and from eon it has been the same: Male and female created He them (Genesis 1:27). So that tells me every human with a sexual identity/behavior conflict/issue is either in the throes of arguing with GOD or they have already told Him HE is WRONG. Anybody besides me know how brain-dead that is?!

So debate participation is over for me. That last picture I saw on Facebook was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Y’all better be glad I’m not GOD.  With His power, I would have already opened up hell and dropped us all in; the depravity of humanity has sunk even lower than I could have imagined. All I can say is GOD is gracious, awesome and all together worthy of our love, adoration and obedience; certainly not what is going on every day on this planet!

To debate, argue, rehash, read, view or in any manner give any more cerebral rental space to this media frenzy is ludicrous. Beyond this piece, for me I am shutting the discussion down, either verbal or written; leaving open, room only for honest searching-for-GOD souls hoping for a way out of sin’s penalty. Those I would gladly pray with, honor and labor with for truth and freedom. The grandstanding, loud, boisterous, in my face, screaming/demanding that I call evil, good – nope! I’m done. I will no longer validate such fruitless activity with my time and attention.

There is no worthiness in this media circus as it has thus far been presented. The right and wrong of sexuality is irrefutable not only by Scripture but by the biological makeup of we and this sphere on which we reside. To allow ourselves to get worked up into heated debates, brawls and endless Facebook discussion threads gives undeserved credibility to this movement as well as diverting our attention from the real culprit (Ephesians  6:12) and from matters about which we could actually do some good.

So. Am I advocating legislative surrender and caving in to political correctness? Not no, but HEAVEN’S NO! I’m envisioning some holy stealth operations to dismantle this unholy political machine. Have we not heard; have we not read; do we not believe that GOD resists the proud but He gives grace to the humble? (James 4:6) I’m bowing out now; silent to the masses related to this matter, but a whole lot of vocal coming with the ONE Who listens with Grace. Perhaps the Silent Majority should remain silent to the subject masses and become exceedingly vocal on their behalf to the Heavenly Father.

Flexibility

I am hearing as I sit before this page that we must be flexible, that the world changes and our doctrine must change; we cannot say with no flexibility this is my doctrine. 

Hebrews 13:8 KJV

8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

 

We must be flexible. We must not be dogmatic. We must allow ourselves to evolve. We must change as the world changes. 

How does that strike you? 

Flexibility. Can be a great thing! It just might keep you out of the Chiropractor’s office. However, in the area of Biblical Doctrine, flexibility just might land you on a Psychiatrist’s couch.  

Some things, Folks, just do not change. And those unchangeable things are clearly defined and described by GOD in His Word (the Bible). 

There once was a man and to him another said don’t you think you are rather closed-minded with all this Bible stuff; to which he replied, perhaps, but I can afford to be, I have believed rightly. 

So. As to those unchanging doctrine revealed in ABBA’s Word, I have believed rightly. On some of those ‘rib’ issues I am still learning. :)

Black, White and Red

Tuesday’s post A Little Color amused me as I recently labeled myself a black and white girl. I like black and white! Even though bold sunsets and landscapes bursting bright with color delight my eyes and thrill my soul, still I’m a black and white girl. Shall I explain?

Life is pretty much black and white for me; naturally there are exceptions but over all it’s black and white for me. Not much gray.

In this culture of political correctness and certain demands for tolerance – that gives me a chuckle. Know why? Because the one demanding tolerance is exhibiting no tolerance by the very act of demanding tolerance. I told you. Life is pretty much black and white to me.

There’s right and there’s wrong. There’s sin. There’s righteousness. Take your pick. And I do. I wish I could say I always pick white (Righteousness) but I don’t. Scripture is true.

 9 “The heart is more deceitful than anything else and mortally sick. Who can fathom it?  Jeremiah 17:9  (CJB) 

In GOD’s economy, a black heart is not what you want. A mortally sick soul that chooses evil over good is deadly. But that’s the black and white of it. We are either in Christ or we are not. (See Romans 8:8-10. Click HERE.) Daily, moment by moment we either choose to sin or not to sin. It’s that black and white. And what’s sin and what’s not sin? Well, that’s black and white for me too. The answers are in the BOOK. It’s all there laid out for us to read, learn and heed.

What can I say this black and white girl is so very grateful for the red, red blood of Jesus. Because of this Living Savior, because of His Spirit within more and more I can choose right over wrong.

Yep this girl likes the starkness of black and white looking through RED because it makes choices a whole lot easier!
