Prayer and The Word

Would you visit our PFT list and faithfully intercede for LaJuanna? She is receiving kidney dialysis and awaiting results from a kidney biopsy to determine how much chemo she will need. Many prayers for her would not be wasted and if you are interested in sending her cards of encouragement, please email me for her address.

Betty is improving; she thanks us for our prayers and asked that we continue.

Word for Debbie was excellent – benign! She’s home continuing to recover; let us continue to pray for her.

June’s surgery went well; however it is cancer and we know that means much prayer is needed.

And an extra prayer for me today would feel good.  And if you have some specifics you want me to pray over with you, just send me an email.

2 Samuel 7:
21 For the sake of Your word, and according to Your own heart, You have done all this greatness to let Your servant know.

You always hear us, ABBA, and You always answer. Thank You in and through JESUS, our Saviour. Amen and amen.

Nothing Like I Planned

I’m checking in for a quick Tuesday morning hello since I did not sit to write on Monday. :( One of Monday’s activities was a Memorial Service. Kathy was only 54 and a young 54 at that!  Her husband, Mike, for a long while now as the HOLY SPIRIT reminds you please pray for him.

It is a cloudy, misty morning here in Lower Alabama – quiet too. I am taking a break from preparing for Thursday night’s Bible Study. You may recall I named it Gals of Scripture. And so far it has gone nothing as I had planned.

The first Thursday night I was home with hubby freshly home from an unexpected hospital stay — so no class that night. All and all it was a great experience – I am speaking here of the hospital stay – yes, seriously. And he is doing great now – still recovering but doing so wonderfully.  And we are so grateful.

The next Thursday which was last Thursday I had expected to present Rahab but the HOLY SPIRIT said no it will be Eve. And I agreed with Him. Good thing, huh? And at the conclusion of last week’s class, I suggested that perhaps Rahab would be this week’s Gal of Scripture. She’s not.

I got my change of direction just a bit ago. This woman is not even given a name in Scripture which tells me she can be any woman. Any woman who will choose to be can be a woman on point for JESUS. Any one of us (men included) can choose to be wise and stand on the wall for JESUS. It’s the only wise decision to make. :)  Shall we chew on that today?

James 1:5 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him.

James 3:17 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without favoritism and hypocrisy.

Please pray for those depending on us.

Sunday to Monday

It has been a full weekend for the Thompsons. Two dear men who loved JESUS were remembered on Saturday with Memorial Services. I was reminded again that leaving a legacy that points others to JESUS is all that ultimately matters. Whatever we accomplish in this life if when we leave here folks cannot say we loved JESUS and we loved others — well, we’ve wasted a trip! A life lived outside the will of JESUS CHRIST is a life wasted.

Matthew 16:26 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
via Matthew 16:26 NASB – For what will it profit a man if he – Bible Gateway.

Determine to be kind to every person you meet today. :)
