Accepted

I am reading 1 Peter 5:10 and it reads like this:

1 Peter 5:10  (NKJV)10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.  source

But may the GOD of all grace . . .
What GOD?
The GOD of all grace. All the grace I will ever need. That is Who He is.
Grace.
What is grace anyway? Some say grace is the unmerited favor of GOD.
I don’t disagree with that.
Is there any more?
Grace.
The Hebrew word for our English word grace is chen (with a sign over the e which my keyboard does not have).
According to my Strong’s Interlinear Search, it means Acceptance.
I have been ACCEPTED by Him, the GOD of all grace! And that acceptance is UNMERITED. I did not earn it. I could not earn it. No amount of good works will get me grace. You either.

So, how? How did GOD the perfect Holy One, how did He accept me? Read on.

Who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus!
Jesus must have known what He was talking about when He said:

John 14:6  (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  source

So are you Accepted? How do you know you are?

Just Asking . . . For the 6th Time

1 Peter 1:5-7  (NKJV) (A)who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (B)In this you greatly rejoice, though now (C)for a little while, if need be, (D)you have been [a]grieved by various trials, that (E)the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though (F)it is tested by fire, (G)may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,    source

Who are kept by the power of GOD it reads. I have questions.

How by the power of GOD are people kept, especially now?
Through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
This is the last time. It has been since Yeshua ascended.

So, in this last time is it being revealed who is in saving faith?
Will this revealing escalate? That is will world events continue to make it easier to discern who has saving faith and who does not?

In this you greatly rejoice it reads. Am I?
And about what? What am I to greatly rejoice about in this last time?
though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials
Am I to greatly rejoice that my trials are for only a little while?
Okay. A little while is better than a long while, right?
And it does say if need be, doesn’t it?
So, unless it is necessary, I will not be suffering. That’s good, right?
Oh! It’s not just one trial but various. That’s all kinds, right?
But it still says IF NEED BE. I have to remember that.

Wait. Why are these trials necessary, again?
that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
Oh. No more questions. At least at this moment. :)

ANYONE

Have Christians strayed from Scripture?
Have Christians adopted the world’s ways of addressing human maladies and injustices?

When Yeshua walked the sands of Judea in His GODMAN body the Romans were cruel and dictatorial, intoxicated with power. They beat, killed, and taxed the Jews to poverty and that was just for starters. Yet in Scripture, I find no recordings of Yeshua organizing groups to march in the streets with signs and angry shouts; nor kill Roman officers, loot, or burn Roman businesses. (No. I am not saying Christians are doing the latter.) Neither have I found it recorded that He instructed His disciples to do so. There was that time Peter got heated and afraid and sliced off a man’s ear and Yeshua immediately put it back and instructed Peter otherwise. (Check it out at Luke 22:49-51 and John 18:10-11) The Bible tells me Jesus went about preaching His Gospel, feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and fellowshipping with A N Y O N E who wanted His company.

How are we stacking up?

Of a Mind

YouVersion.

I open this app often, almost daily. I did today and I found a verse in one of the devotions that required I ask myself some questions. And since I’m asking, perhaps you will also be of a mind to ask yourself a question or two.

So the question I was compelled to ask?
So, what are you craving? I mean what. Are. You. Craving?
What in this world do you want?

How we answer that will tell us who we are. It will tell us who and where our priorities fall.
I’m getting the picture with my name on it. And you?
