Think About It.

Hebrews 6: 6 Therefore, leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,

A couple observations this morning. I think. :)

Foundation of repentance.

Repentance. The foundation on which we build relationships. A Relationship with YESHUA. And relationships with one another.  In the words of Steve Brown: “You think about that.”

Dead works. What are dead works? Obviously there is no life in them. Else they would not be DEAD WORKS. That makes sense. So there is no Laying up of treasures in Heaven in dead works.

20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.

You know what comes before this verse in Matthew 6? The LORD’s Prayer – asking for HIS forgiveness. You know what comes next? A command to forgive others. And next? That works without forgiveness = dead works.  Dead works are NOT YESHUA’s will for us. Laying up treasure in Heaven is. And those treasures begin with FORGIVENESS. That’s the foundation.

Something to think about. Isn’t it?

ABBA, thank You for speaking with us today. Thank You for confirming Your Word with Your Word. And so I pray for forgiveness for each of us today. That we will seek Your forgiveness and that we will ask for forgiveness from others we have hurt with our words and our deeds. I pray we will see afresh the value You place on forgiveness; the necessity of it to build relationships and life.
I am still remembering Terri. Kerri. Dori. Two Mission Trips. Israel. America. Joy. Leslie. Ray. Family needs. Souls in need of forgiveness but so far will not ask in saving faith. Have Mercy, ABBA. Yet save them we pray. And for each One who gathers here with us today, I pray for strength and wisdom; for a firm foundation of repentance and many works that are well pleasing to You and worthy of treasure in Heaven in the Holy Name of JESUS we pray.

Yours, Mine, Theirs and Ours

There is no really deep secret to having a happy home. It simply is letting Jesus have first place in our hearts.

May I shout that out? Shout it out because there are multitudes of unhappy homes all around us; perhaps some of us are living in one. There is a remedy.

And yes I have heard the arguments.

It’s him.

If he will put JESUS first I will.

Why should I be the one when he won’t?

The answer is simple.

Do you want peace or not?

One thing stands between turmoil and peace: pride — yours, mine, theirs and ours

James 4:6 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

6 But He giveth more grace; therefore He saith, “God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”

via James 4:6 KJ21 – But He giveth more grace; therefore He – Bible Gateway.

When we feel GOD is resisting us or at least not doing what we want? There could be many reasons for His delay; even so have we carefully examined ourselves for pride in ourselves?

1 Peter 5:5 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility; for “God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.”

via 1 Peter 5:5 KJ21 – Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves – Bible Gateway.

Got some heavy trials? Got some miserable situations?

Seek an elder – a wise woman with some godly age on her who will share the WORD with you and then practice what the WORD says.

And not to leave the men out here. Seek out a wise man with some godly age on him who will share the WORD with you and then practice what the WORD says.

Is this remedy easy? No it’s not – that’s no secret either. If it were easy everybody would jump on it. Only the humble and the brave will take on this remedy. But you know, the end results of this remedy is a whole lot easier to handle than the results of refusing this remedy.

It’s really a no-brainer – don’t you think?   :)

Even so let compassion move us and let us pray for one another. As my dear friend Janet says: “Life’s hard but GOD is good!”

Blessings for a holy weekend,

Please pray for Janet and family – visitation is tonight and memorial service tomorrow. Dawn’s (S) surgery is this morning. Kerri, Leon, Dori, Terri, Carolyn, Penni, Sheila, Melinda, Patricia/Todd – just to name a few dear Ones who need prayer warriors to intercede.

Something New About Something Old

I have fallen way behind in my workbook in my James study (Beth Moore) and yet as ABBA would have it He’s right on time where I picked up today.

The statement that prompted me here is one Beth made on page 108 of the aforementioned workbook: “and then she did something new. She believed God and acted upon it.”

And the light came on!  And so to all of us the word is

Do something new — believe GOD.

And one might say I believed GOD a long time ago! And that for sure is true. But what about this?

In that old situation, in that protracted issue that is beyond wearisome – do something new! Believe GOD! And act upon that belief!

Our subject She is Rabah. We can correctly surmise, I believe, that Rahab had long been in her situation. That she had long been taking care of business. But on the day those two Jewish ‘Boys’ came by her house, she did something very new! And the new she did changed her life and her legacy.

To read and refresh your recollection of Rahab please click HERE for a link to read Joshua 2, Joshua 6 and Matthew 1.

Doing something new – Believing GOD – delivered Rahab from prostitution and placed her in the lineage of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!

Perhaps we do not need to be rescued, delivered from prostitution; perhaps we don’t even need to be rescued and delivered from some disabling addiction; but I’m thinking there is not a one of us that does not need to do something new about something old.

What would doing something new – Believing GOD  – do for you and me? We won’t know til we do!!

If this generates questions in your mind, perhaps we can inquire of  ABBA together – send me a comment or an email and lets talk.

Blessings of Joy and Peace,
