This Would Be

A question was posed in my hearing last week and this week I am still pondering it.

The question?

If you knew you had just 8 more months to live what would you do with those 8 months?

As far as I know, I may have more than 8 months; and then again I might have LESS than 8 months.  None of us are privy to the moment of our escape from this earth.

What would I do?
I think one thing would be most important to me.
It wouldn’t be traveling to places that I really would like to see.
It wouldn’t be writing that book I always wished was in me.
I think I would like to clean some things out of the attic and closets so my Babies would not be left with those tasks but that would not be the pressing matter.

This would be.
To somehow speak to each one of my children, the first and second generations of my children (all of them; by birth and by marriage); generation three. at this writing, has not yet reached what is termed, the age of accountability.
What would I want to say?

Are you ready?
Are you sure?
Are you sure you have exchanged your sins for JESUS’ Righteousness?
Are you sure that you are walking in The Truth?  Are you sure you are living as Father commands?
Are you sure you can stand before GOD, give an account to Him and be not ashamed?

If you are not sure, do you want to be?
Will you at least commit to reading Your Bible?
One Book at a time, one chapter a day?

How happy I was to meet some of your children and find them living according to the truth, just as the Father commanded.  source

Of all the things I want in this life, I want ALL my Babies to make it to Heaven.  I do not want one of them to perish. Come to think of it I want no one to perish.

I want ALL to come to salvation.
I want ALL to come to trust the LORD JESUS and be delivered from the kingdom of darkness to The Kingdom of GOD.
I want no one to be lost.  Not one.

So whether I have 8 months, 8 years, or much longer my mission is the same:

Are you ready?

Moreover, dear friends, do not ignore this: with the Lord, one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some people think of slowness; on the contrary, he is patient with you; for it is not his purpose that anyone should be destroyed, but that everyone should turn from his sins. 10 However, the Day of the Lord will come “like a thief.” On that Day the heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will melt and disintegrate, and the earth and everything in it will be burned up.  source

Glad Tidings

I heard today that as Disciples of Yeshua we are supposed to engage our culture and share His Gospel.
Would you agree?

And if so, how do we engage this current culture?
AND does this current culture WANT us to engage them?

To engage today’s apart from Christ Culture we would be commanded to be truthful with them.
How likely is it for us to share the saving Gospel of JESUS with them if they see no need to be redeemed?
Redeemed from what they might say?
Yet we know without the knowledge of sin, the conviction for sin, and the turning from sin to GOD  (repentance), no sinner is ever redeemed.  Romans 3:23-28

Moreover, we understand from Scripture that sinners must own their sins before they can have their sins transferred to JESUS and have His Righteousness imputed to them.
How do we impart the Gospel to a Culture if that Culture refuses to contemplate their sins?

So, how do we engage this anti-Christ culture?

Now, I am assuming that the majority of the people who come to The White Stone come because they are already in the Christian Culture – that is they know JESUS in salvation or are in the habit of going to a church service from time to time.
Which means I am again more or less preaching to the choir.
But just in case, my last question here today is for the Culture.

So, Choir, how do YOU engage this culture?

And, Culture, how do YOU want to be engaged?

Romans 10:13-15  American Standard Version

13 for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!    source

Easy Sunday

Ephesians 2

It’s a chapter to be read with keen awareness and devoted appreciation.
Oh, how I would love to read it aloud to you with all the passion and thankfulness that washes over me.

I paraphrased the first two verses.
Would you like to see them?
Good.

Ephesians 1: 1 I used to be dead because of my sins and acts of disobedience. 2  I walked in the ways of the world and obeyed the Ruler of the Powers of the Air, who is still at work among the disobedient.  original source

The chapter goes on to say we all used to live this way; this natural, old nature with which we were born BUT GOD in His mercy and grace came and offered us more than just this natural sin-cursed life. He offered us through The Messiah Yeshua deliverance from sin, death, hell, and the grave.

Not many in comparison have said yes.
Have you?

It’s been a quiet Sunday here at our lovely abode; these PJs sure are comfy.
