Win Some

Daily writing prompt
What makes a teacher great?

What makes a teacher great?
Great question.  smile

Knowledge, of course, right?  A teacher must know whereof she/he speaks.  I mean, how can a teacher impart what she does not know. Correct? So what else do they need?  How about this?
A great teacher will invite us to learn, observe, and help us garner the information given.
I’d say what really makes teachers great is being a winsome soul with a well-trained mind.
Yes, winsome teachers, win some (or most) of their students to great learning.

The Whole Nine Yards

If you had to change your name, what would your new name be?

Funny you should ask. I did change my name back 20 years ago. I chose a new name and legally changed it, not by marriage. Employment records, insurance, driver’s license, the whole nine yards.
It felt crazy but I did it anyway. I remember a co-worker said to me, “I’ve never known anyone who just up and changed their name.” I said, “Me either.”

If interested, this link will direct you to my name change story, twice.

This post is way late from the original WordPress writing prompt date but better late than not, right?

One Response

If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be, and why?

Good question.
It requires serious thought — For a moment.

I hardly know how to be me!
Stepping into another life not knowing their thoughts, their habits, not knowing their secrets that we all have. Imagine what we could mess up in 24 hours.
And what happens when they are they again?
Do they undo what we did? Or must they contend, and accept what we did whether they agree or not? For you see, today, what we do today affects who and what we do tomorrow.

But what of the good I might do in their life in 24 hours?
Perhaps I should do that good in my own life for 24 hours.

Be anyone else? No, thank you.

How Scared are You?

Daily writing prompt
What fears have you overcome and how?

The fear of death.

What’s on the other side of death?
And how do I know what happens after death?
Does anything happen after death?
These questions and these uncertainties have been answered for me.

Now, please note, I didn’t say dying.
I still do not want to drown.
And there are even a couple of other ways I would prefer not to die.
Even so, I figure when that time comes, however, it is or whenever it is dying grace will be given.

So, the fear of death?
How did I overcome it?

Actually, I didn’t do it alone. Someone helped me.
