Star of Bethlehem

Interesting Reading.

I did some tonight.
It’s massive to digest.  I read it all, so it’s there but sorting through it now, and mulling it over — that is going to take a while.
What am I talking about?
Glad you asked.

The Star of Bethlehem.

Does GOD speak with Stars?
Try on this excerpt with me.   This clip was copied from the LINK above.

In the Book of Job, Chapter 9, Job credits God with creation of the stars and constellations:

He is the Maker of the Bear [Ursa Major] and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations of the south.

And in Job Chapter 38, God makes much the same point. He, not man, is sovereign over the creation, particularly the constellations:

31 “Can you bind the beautiful Pleiades? Can you loose the cords of Orion? 32 Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons…

Many other Biblical writers in many other passages state that God arranged the stars. For example, says the Book of Isaiah in Chapter 40:

Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

And from Psalm 19.

The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words;
Their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their utterances to the end of the world.   . . . source

I’m not a learn-ed woman. I’m not a scholar.
In fact, I have a saying: if I can see (understand, comprehend) it, anybody can!

So, without education other than my personal reading and hearing of Scripture, I don’t think JESUS was placed in that feeding trough on December 25. Now I can believe that He was implanted in Mary’s womb on December 25 or thereabout.  What does that do to what I read?
I don’t know. But it was interesting.

Long Looks

I think I have only a few words today.
But I do have a picture that I took this afternoon that has snatched several long looks. I mean it’s flat-out captivating to me.
A simple, stunning burst of color in December!
It’s not pampered or petted, it just is.
And I am grateful.
How about you?

So Far

I am sharing in part with you a letter I have written for this Season that the world and Christians are celebrating alike.  That in and of itself is a reason for my letter.

It has been many years in the learning and walking it out here that I have come to believe the Christmas Traditions of man do not honor or represent The Birth of Messiah and I have come to find them unworthy of practice for me.
Even so, I am eager to acknowledge and celebrate daily that JESUS The CHRIST was born here for us – likely in September or October, not December 25; but He came all the same.

He came, leaving Heaven, and lowered Himself to be born a human! Wow! GOD BECAME A MAN!
He is the ONLY sinless human to ever be born!  The ONLY GOD MAN! He walked here on earth and never sinned – never harmed anyone – ever! And then added to all that, He died a death we cannot fathom; our finite minds just cannot fully comprehend this BUT we can believe Him. By His Grace, we do believe HIM.

And then! On the Third Day, He breathed Earth’s air again! Laying on that cold, hard slab of stone, in that same human body, The GODMAN breathed again! to never die again!
ONLY GOD! Only GOD could love us fallen humans so much!

So since the traditional Christmas trappings and trees with elaborate decorating, and greetings said everywhere to everyone that means absolutely nothing holy do not now rest well with my soul, I have abandoned all but a few things, like gatherings with family and friends to share fellowship, and special foods and gifts that say I love you and I think you could use this in JESUS’ Name.
Even if you do not understand or agree with me, I figure you do understand I’m not trying to be difficult, I’m just trying to honor My JESUS the best way I know how for who HE has brought me to be so far.

So let us celebrate LIFE, the lives we now live, and THE LIFE of THE ONE Advent+Week+2-2508622680Who makes our lives worth living, now and forever.
Blessed be The Name of The LORD!!

Think Long

This holiday season of December 2023, I hope you will think long on this FACT: He came and He IS coming again.

He came first to earth as you and I arrived here, He was born, with one exception: He IS the One and Only GODMAN, for eternity to come, and since that night on whatever day it was that He was born in that cave for sacrificial lambs and Mary laid Him in a feeding trough. (Please don’t let me be misunderstood here, He has ALWAYS been GOD, but He was not MAN until He was born into the womb of Mary. )

I think our attention is misplaced if we focus our celebrating at a manger nativity.
(I mean we don’t show up at our birthday celebrations in our newborn attire, do we?)

To find JESUS, look to The Scriptures!
Let us search for Him in the Scriptures as diligently as the Wise Men looked for Him.
By the way, they learned of His Coming from the Scriptures.
Let us make it our aim to search the Scriptures this holiday season.
Let us make it our mission to see JESUS in the Scriptures.
Watch Him live.
Watch Him die.
Watch Him rise again.
Watch Him ascend to His Father.
Be watching for Him to come again — every day.

I don’t know what December 2023 will bring for us here at The White Stone Blog but please let it be for JESUS, for His honor, for His glory, for His Kingdom.

Pray for me this holiday season that I will not dishonor My LORD.
Amen and amen.

We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
