A Half-Baked Life

Trying a new recipe for a cake turned into a disaster.  After it was baked and cooled, it looked good, but when it was cut open, it lost its attraction. The inside was a mass of heavy, soggy dough.  I hadn’t baked it long enough.

Unless I live according to God’s direction each day, I am not fully ready to serve the purpose He has for me. What it looks like on the outside isn’t necessarily what it is on the inside until He has total control over me.

My people mingle with the heathen, picking up their evil-ways; thus they become as good-for-nothing as a half-baked cake. (Hos. 7:8 LB)

Lord, help me to “bake” evenly so the inside is as good as the outside looks. Thank You for living in me. Amen.

Listening

I can’t say that I have an overwhelming compelling, just a slight leaning, which means I could be stepping into the wrong boat; time will tell.  For now, I am taking some time  to not ‘talk’ here at The White Stone, only listen.

I will be here to receive your prayer requests and post them, and here to post your praises for His answers and as always I am here to listen to your concerns. It’s just that I have been thinking for a while now that I need some time to be quiet and evaluate what’s next for The White Stone (IDOK).

I appreciate your love and patience with me, and please, please know I am praying along with you and for you in this ‘silence’.

See you when ‘talking’ resumes.

Love and holy hugs, kt

Subnormal?

Thursday, October 14, 2010 — IDOK Devotion

Matthew 5:  14“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;

A city set on a hill cannot be hidden — if the LIGHT of JESUS is not illuminating the world around me then I am not living on the HILL.

15nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

It is SUBNORMAL for a Christian to be quiet about JESUS.  We are living sub-normally if we profess to know CHRIST and yet our day in and day out gives no glimpse of HIM to the people in our world.

Question: Does your best friend, your spouse, or your children know beyond a shadow of a doubt that JESUS CHRIST is your life — that you do not do this life without constant communication with HIM?  No?  That’s subnormal in the Kingdom of God.

Oh, LORD, please don’t let me be subnormal.  Please don’t let me refuse to live on the HILL of dying to myself.

16“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Father, I truly do not want to be subnormal; make me the normal described in Your Word.  And I pray all our IDOKs will pray the same.  HOLY SPIRIT, I pray You will raise up thousands upon thousands of Saints whose LAMP is set consistently on the HILL, illuminating our world. Amen and amen in JESUS’ name.

Holy hugs, kt

We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
