How Do You Read It?

My Bible was open on my desk. I looked down and began to read without turning a page.

Habakkuk 2.

I read it in the NASB. In the Message Bible. In the New Living Translation. In all three, the message is the same  – the Nation that forgets God is doomed to destruction.

3 “For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.
via Hab 2 NASB – God Answers the Prophet – I will stand – Bible Gateway.

Choose your translation and tell me what you see.  Particularly in the New Living Translation, verse 12 do you think of Planned Parenthood (and abortion mill ‘physicians’) getting rich on the blood of aborted babies? In verse 4 do you see politicians?

In verse 1 of the NASB do you see us standing guard; waiting to hear from ABBA; waiting to hear what directives He will give us to aid in the rescue those who will listen? I did. And I wonder when I will act instead of just talk (and write).

There are prayers to pray! Praying (PFT) is breathing for Christians. Breathe RED!

Me Too! Really!

2:17! Where has the day gone?? And I still have a trip to the store to make.

Journey. Journey Magazine that is.  If you don’t have access to one and you can, I highly recommend them.  It was asking me questions today.  May I ask the same of you? And will you answer?

In what ways does media influence you?
What do you believe about yourself or others that is a direct result of marketing?

Journey went on to say renewal of the mind is a process of transformation. The media want to transform us from who we are to who ‘they’ desire us to be: People who buy their products so we can be beautiful, skinny, smarter, healthier, enlightened, and so on. And the news media what do they want us to be? Just like them – politically correct.  You know what? I’ve just about had it up to here with politically correct. But that is not where I want to go with this, not today . :)

So tell me. How many of those ‘to be-s’ do you wish to be?

Beautiful?
Me too!  I’ve always wanted to be beautiful, but have never believed (except for one day) I am.  Media helped convince me I am not. Shame on them! Shame on me for believing them. Here’s what I should believe.

Song of Solomon 6:4 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
4 “You are as beautiful as Tirzah, my darling, As lovely as Jerusalem, As awesome as an army with banners.

via Song of Solomon 6:4 NASB – You are as beautiful as Tirzah my – Bible Gateway.

So should you.

Smarter?
Me too!  But let us get real here! Are we really going to allow this sin saturated, money-grubbing, reprobate-minded media to continue to ‘transform’ us or are we going to believe the CREATOR of THE UNIVERSE?! Really!

1 Corinthians 2:16 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
16 For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.

via 1 Corinthians 2:16 NASB – For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD – Bible Gateway.

Philippians 4:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

via Philippians 4:7 KJV – And the peace of God which passeth all – Bible Gateway.

And now for the one you have been expecting, the one you can quote and the one we better start acting on. Really!

Romans 12:2 King James Version (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

via Romans 12:2 KJV – And be not conformed to this world but – Bible Gateway.

So! How will you answer Journey’s questions?

A Movie

A, I suppose best described as a secular movie with GOD tones made me cry and say thank You to Father this afternoon.

Neither of the Names by which we know our Triune GOD were spoken; He was only referred to as ‘They’. Not a  theologically sound movie but certainly a feel-good movie. Not a movie to teach us the doctrine of salvation by grace; not a movie to teach us that without the saving work of Jesus Christ perfected in each of us individually the soul collector who comes when we die will not be benevolent. Truth is not every soul leaving planet earth will be escorted by a Collector who is filled with love and kindness.  But I’m off my point.

My tears came and I thanked Father for making me human. I have been known to lament that I am human.  To lament my flaws and frailties; to lament that I am not perfect; lament that I have feet of clay.  However, from the perspective of the movie, I could praise and thank God for loving me so much that He would create me human.

Oh, how He loves us! Flawed, frail, rebellious, proud, arrogant, foolish, on and on goes the list. BUT God loves humans! We are His most treasured, most beloved, most valued creation of all. I think I shall cease to lament that I  am human and rather praise that I am a beloved human, saved by the grace of Almighty God; saved to have fellowship with Him forever.  Ahh! how blessed to be human!

Hebrews 2:15-17 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.
16 For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham.
17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

via Hebrews 2:15-17 NASB – and might free those who through fear – Bible Gateway.

Do you know for sure when your Soul Collector comes to escort you to your eternal place that Collector will be one of the 2/3s and not the 1/3?  (Hebrews 1:13-14) (Revelation 12:4)

The movie? Want the name? :) Soul Collector. I might watch it again. I like happy tears!!

Prayer is breathing to a Christian.

JESUS LOVES YOU!  Kathie
