For Our Learning

Yeah! Blog snow is back!!

Romans 1:20 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

John 1:3 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

I am convinced that ALL creation was made to reveal GOD to us and even we ourselves.

Sara (if you missed her announcement, click HERE) is one of those creations and we are both learning.

I have long found dogs to be forgiving creatures – they give unconditional love.  That most assuredly should remind of us ABBA.  Sara has been with us a little more than a week and in that time she has learned well that the new wood flooring is off-limits to her. She is mindful of this no-no even while she plays.  Earlier this morning, she was in chase of her ball; now she flat-out enjoys chasing that ball across the kitchen and dining room floors. Today the ball was wild and Sara was in hot pursuit, if puppies could giggle I have no doubt she would have been. And then! oh no the ball rolled squarely on the wood floor; and Sara? Well, Sara abruptly abandoned her pursuit.  Not only did she stop short of her predetermined boundary she looked up at me as if to say please fetch it for me, I can’t go in there. And did I? Oh yes!! with much pleasure and words of praise and hugs.

Can you guess what Sara is teaching me? That we as ABBA’s beloved children must learn to mind and observe His predetermined boundaries with such faithfulness!  Would HE not reward us exceedingly more than I did Sara this morning?

Something more before I close. Sara does not yet know that once she has mastered the art of taking her potty breaks outside, her boundary lines will be extended. I am wondering what boundary lines would be extended for me and what rewards and praises and hugs from ABBA I would receive if I were to more faithfully stop short of holy boundaries?

I’d treasure your thoughts, if you’d care to share.  Happy Thursday!!

Blessings of Joy and Peace,

ABBA, thank You for lessons in such precious packages; packages that don’t always do what is convenient or desired but even so YOU have messages to give. Please help me hear You. And, HOLY SPIRIT, for every dear one who comes here to read and pray, may they hear You too. And, LORD, we have some friends and family that have serious needs; some are physically ill, some are sore and bruised by others who refuse to live within holy boundaries – help, ABBA, in JESUS name, we ask for Your help.

One This Last Day of November 2012

Sara is taking her morning nap; GRANDSON is drinking hot cocoa and watching a movie and I am hoping to say hello in this quiet time. :)

I hope you are not too disappointed that I am sharing YOU VERSION with you again this morning. It really is so good!!

THE GARAGE

Billy Graham tells of a woman who asked, “Why do I need a home?” She said, “I was born in a hospital, educated at a college, courted in an automobile, married in a church. I live out of a delicatessen-tin cans and paper bags. I spend my mornings on the golf course, my afternoons at the bridge table, and my evenings at the movies. And when I die I will be cremated and buried in a brass urn. All I really need is a garage.”

Tragically, millions live like this woman. Our homes often are mere parking places in which we spend a portion of the night, places where we pass our family members like ships in the night. But we are paying a great price for our lives of distraction. A good deal of the violence and chaos of our society results from these unstable homes. God never intended our homes to be mere parking places for busy bodies needing rest and refueling. Rather, homes have purpose, and God’s Word contains directions for their proper use.

God planned marriage so that two people can become together what they could never be alone. Each individual completes the other as they become a unit. However, no marriage can really be complete without a living relationship with God through Jesus Christ. God created marriage, and it is foolish to think it would ever be complete without Him as the foundation.

Sweetness

My first verse with Bible in hand. Not the first I have read this morning, just the first on pages of paper and ink.

8 They who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs; You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy.

via Ps 65 NASB – God’s Abundant Favor to Earth and – Bible Gateway.

They who are so out there on the circumference of civilization, still they know; they see the glory of GOD. Perhaps out there they see better than we.
Read some more with me and just enjoy the sweetness of Scripture.

9 You visit the earth and cause it to overflow;

You greatly enrich it;

The stream of God is full of water;

You prepare their grain, for thus You prepare the earth.

10 You water its furrows abundantly,

You settle its ridges,

You soften it with showers,

You bless its growth.

11 You have crowned the year with Your bounty,

And Your paths drip with fatness.

12 The pastures of the wilderness drip,

And the hills gird themselves with rejoicing.

13 The meadows are clothed with flocks

And the valleys are covered with grain;

They shout for joy, yes, they sing.

via Ps 65 NASB – God’s Abundant Favor to Earth and – Bible Gateway.

Contemplate HIS goodness today – it will brighten your day and your countenance. :)

Blessings of Joy and Peace,

Meet Sara Elizabeth

I may get called away any moment with puppy cries; at the moment she is sleeping; has been for more than an hour; how long are puppy naps, anyway?

Perhaps I will borrow again this morning. My YOU VERSION was good again today.

TWO IN ONE

God looked on His creation of man and saw it was good. Still, something was missing. Man, although created in God’s image, did not express all those beautiful characteristics of a tender, loving God. Therefore, God decided to make woman. Man needed a “helpmate.” When God completed His work and like a proud father presented her to Adam, the man burst out in poetic exclamation: This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man  (Genesis 2:23).

Alone, neither man nor woman can express all the qualities of our God. God created male and female, and together they bear the image of God: So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them (Genesis 1:27). It takes both male and female to make humanity.

Marriage was ordained to bring man and woman together as a unit, completing God’s creation. Jesus lays special stress on this principle: But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate (Mark 10:6-9). In our marriages, we need to properly reflect the character of God.

Perhaps I will get back to writing over the next few days and in the mean time I am grateful for some really really good writings of others.
