Count On IT!

These words are hanging with me this morning:

25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.

This comes from I Peter chapter 1 and they were first written to Believers dispersed from their homeland to far away places and this Word of encouragement reached them:

25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.

What was life like for them far from home? Can you imagine?

What is your life like? Perhaps you are not far from home, but home is far from you? 25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. Hold firmly today to the WORDs the LORD has already spoken to you.

What has He spoken to you? Has He said You are His and He is Yours? Has He said He will never leave You nor forsake You? Has He said He has plans for good for You?

Another verse came to mind so I looked for it. The one that says His Arm is not shortened that He cannot save.  It is found in Isaiah 59, verse 1. And verse 1 we so love!

Behold, the Lord‘s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

And it is true and we are grateful that it is true. But what about verse 2 and following? We don’t want to read those.

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

My point? I have good news and bad news!

25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.

What matters is which side of that WORD are we on?

Have our sins separated us or are we confident He will never leave us or forsake us?

His WORD is true and endures forever. His Word NEVER, NEVER, NEVER fails!

Count on it!

ABBA, I am grateful Your Word never fails, I am grateful Your Arm is not shortened and You are able to save; I am grateful that You saved the likes of me; I am grateful that You never leave me nor forsake me; I am grateful that my sins have been taken away by You LORD YESHUA and I am no longer separated from You; I am grateful that I have trusted You; thank You for giving me the gift of faith; I pray that anyone coming here who has not received Your gift of faith to them will receive that gift and use that gift to believe and receive Your gift of Salvation and Eternal Life found ONLY in Your One and Only Son JESUS the Christ, the Messiah and Savior of people. Thank You that Your Word endures forever; You are forever faithful to Your Word in grace and justice. Thank You. And, ABBA, I come this morning with others: Jamie, Pam, Carolyn, Terri, Kerri, and Others and I pray for strength for them; for healing and pain relief; for a blessed birthday celebration; for successful textbook, perfect surgery and recovery; for restoration and reconciliation; for repentance and forgiveness; for wisdom and direction; for open doors and closed doors; for safety and protection; for deliverance from bondage of many kinds; for profitable work; for grace and mercy; for the will to do right; for daily bread and household expenses; all of us fit in here somewhere, ABBA, and I trust You to help us all because You have given us Yourself, You will surely give us all things that pertain to living here and now. Thank You, ABBA. Thank You.

Faint

My intentions for this post was a quick word from THE WORD to encourage us to NOT faint or be weary in this culture and season of our respective journeys. Some of us are newer in our journey than others; but weariness is no respecter of persons. :)

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

And as I keyed in faint at Bible Gateway dot-com more than the expected Galatians passage appeared.  And I wondered if  our word FAINT was the same for each passage; so I next visited Bible Study Tool dot-com  to use the Hebrew and Greek Lexicon which can be accessed at the tab Interlinear Bible.

And so my word to you from THE WORD today is lean in on ABBA today so you do not grow weary; so you do not faint and as you study THE WORD check out those Hebrew (Old Testament) and those Greek (New Testament) words. It will be enlightening!

So what does the FAINT in Galatians 6:9 mean? (It’s not the same faint as in Ephesians 3:13.)

Click HERE and see (for Galatians 6:9) it is akin to the marriage covenant. So let us keep  ‘covenant’ with the HOLY SPIRIT who seals us; let us make the decision to not step out on Him and give into our flesh of doubts and frustrations and fears and weariness of putting up with this mess; keep leaning on Him, keep believing Him, keep trusting Him and we will see His reward in due time.

Warning! This bites! When we as followers of JESUS, decide to go with our feelings, our flesh instead of staying in trust, walking in the SPIRIT, we have become unfaithful to our LORD in that decision. Praise HIM! Praise HIM! That He forgives and brings us back to the path of discipleship!

If we acknowledge our sins, then, since he is trustworthy and just, he will forgive them and purify us from all wrongdoing.

Well, Friends, it was not quick or short but I hope it is encouraging.  May ADONAI bless you and keep you and make His Face shine upon you. Numbers 6:24-27.

Thank You, ABBA.  Thank You.
Thank You for good reports for Bella! Thank You for Carolyn’s improved condition. Thank You for loving us; never leaving us, never forsaking us and always having great plans for us for safety, protection, well-being and when the time is right HOME with You. Thank You JESUS for saving us now and forever.

The Good Shepherd and His Sheep (again)

IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2010

The Good Shepherd and His Sheep

As I start this I do not know where it is going.  But truth be known that is not unusual and it’s not that I don’t like it that way – I do.  What to write or what to speak from Scripture is an avenue where surprises please me.

I am deep into reading So Long Insecurities by Beth Moore.  It’s revolutionizing and in my opinion it’s not a book for wimps.  And other than encouraging you to get a copy I will not say much more.  And NO, you cannot borrow mine – there is a limit to my transparency and you should be VERY glad of that!  I’ve probably written more in the margins of the pages of this book than any book in my life.  It looks more like a ‘workbook’ than some of my earlier workbooks with her and I’m only on page 203.  I said I’d hush, didn’t I?  Okay. Moving on.

My dear sister-in-law, Brenda, and I were discussing Jesus the other day and she told me He is described as the Good Shepherd, the Great Shepherd and the Chief Shepherd.  She’s right.  I ran an on-line search in the King James Version and, in part, this is what I found.

Only John’s Gospel names Him as the Good Shepherd and that is found in John 10.  And in John 10 Jesus is talking to the Pharisees.  He has just healed a man blind from birth which brought on a verbal exchange and the Pharisees became indignant about it. And in verse 11 He says: I am the good shepherd.  The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. [source]

He, the Good Shepherd, most assuredly gave His life for us ‘two-legged sheep’. There is no doubt, He did (does) for us what a good shepherd would do for the ewes, rams, wethers and lambs in his charge – he tends them.  He feeds them, waters them, guides them, protects them from all predators, keeps parasites out of their heads and if need be he lays his life on the line for them.  And for us there was that need be, so Jesus laid down His life for us.

John 10: (New King James Version) 16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.  17 “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. 18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”  [source] You know WE are those other sheep, don’t you?

And as I am writing, I wonder what do ‘good’ sheep do?  And I think this: Good sheep eat the food given them – all of it – and ask for more.  Good sheep drink the water offered them. Good sheep stay within the boundaries marked by the shepherd.  Good sheep don’t go traipsing off by themselves, off the path the shepherd is leading them on.  Good sheep submit to parasite inspection and are glad to be rid of them. Good sheep trust their shepherd and will loyally follow him to their own death.  Are you drawing any parallels here?  I sure am!  Am I a good sheep?  Are you a good sheep? We’re working on it and we are better than we were.  Aren’t we? Rejoice in this today!  And if you cannot rejoice because you really aren’t getting better; you really aren’t following Him, you can get His RX for those parasites today and begin the healing process immediately. I’m here if you want to ‘talk’ – you got my email address.

Maybe tomorrow we will look at the passages where we see Him as the Great Shepherd.

ABBA, this is good I think.  Thank You.  And I pray it will resonate with our IDOKs and Readers and that we will be able to rejoice at how far You have brought us and that You are not finished with us yet and that You will not stop until we are that Finished Work, that Finished Masterpiece You have in Your Mind and Heart for us to be.   And if perchance there are some out there that have left the path, have not been feeding and watering and have become parasite infested, I pray that You will reveal this to them and I pray they will agree to let You heal them.  And I pray You will send some sisters (and brothers for the guys) alongside to help them – to give them Your counsel, to love them and pray with them, to listen and care about them. I pray this IDOK Body will be the best we can be, not for our glory, but Yours.  Keep us straight, LORD.  Keep us straight!

And, I dare not forget our IDOK Troops, to ask You again today to keep them safe and protect them from snipers of all kinds; those that would harm spirit, soul or body.  You have been so gracious, please keep on giving them Your grace and bring each one of them home safe and sound I pray.   My heart is still with Israel, for their peace, for their safety and prosperity; thank You for keeping Your Hand upon them.  Thank You for Your Hand upon America too.  Thank You for the ‘grassroots’ that are shooting up all over; keep us thick and healthy enough to get the job done but not overbearing so as to harm others who yet don’t believe the Truth.   I pray we who believe in the Roots, the Foundation upon which America came to be will influence more and more people to believe the Truth and that You will restore America.  And, ABBA, even now in closing out this session, keep my heart stayed on You and all our IDOKS and Readers.  And this I ask in Your Name Jesus, our Savior, our Lord and our King.  Even so Come Quickly, Lord Jesus.  Amen and amen.

Willfully Dependent (again)

IDOK DEVOTION FOR TUESDAY, DECEMBER 29, 2009

Willfully Dependent

I began reading today in Matthew 18.  That is the place in Sacred Word where Jesus said: 2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.  And I asked how are little children?  And He answered with one word: dependent.  And I am thinking, be they newborn, infant, toddler and even older, children are dependent.  Dependant upon their parents; however strong willed, however determined to touch what will hurt them, they are dependent upon those who gave them life.

Do you see what I see?  Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.   Unless one becomes WILLFULLY DEPENDENT upon the ONE who gave him/her physical life – God Almighty – for Eternal Life, that One will never see the Kingdom of God, shall by no means enter in.  There is no way to enter Eternal Life without becoming dependent upon God.  That is willfully abandoning any means of our own to enter in and resting and relying only on the One Provision God has given for Eternal Life – Jesus Christ.  Is it any wonder that Jesus came as a Baby – dependent upon Mary and Joseph – to show us the way?  As the Son of Holy God was willfully dependent upon Mary and Joseph for every morsel of food that entered His mouth, so must we be dependent upon Jesus Christ for Life Everlasting and life here and now.  Oh my goodness!  Jesus Christ did come to show us the way to LIFE and it is as a little child – dependent!

I say it again, DADDY GOD, oh my goodness how simple and how sweet and precious is this message to us. May we look afresh and renewed again at every child we see and see the message You have for us – dependent.  Dependent on You for every breath!  Thank You for speaking to us this morning.  Thank You for giving us a Word.  And as I am thinking of beginning a New Year what better way to enter it than DEPENDENT upon You?  This I believe, this I KNOW, the more dependent upon You I know myself to be and practicing that dependence, the more INDEPENDENT of my flesh and the world I will be.  Make it, Lord God, my goal to be dependent upon You in practice; oh to practice dependence – this is good! Thank You, ABBA, and now we turn to pray; You know the many needs here and we are dependent upon You.   And we pray for each Dear Ones names spoken here asking You, Holy Spirit, to help them depend upon You and receive every help and blessing and healing and restoration that You so desire to give them.  We pray too for our IDOK Troops for their safety and well-being in spirit, soul and body; asking all these things because we can in You alone, Christ Jesus. Amen and amen.
