The Fourth Thursday

It’s been a fast November. I have a regret. I didn’t do my usual November thirty days of thanks and now The Thursday is almost here.
So from our home to yours.

I celebrated today with my Office Family. I cannot thank Father GOD enough for His provision and favor upon us when He set me in place at Holt & Associates. We are grateful.

When you gather in your respective places on Thursday, I hope your coming together will not be about just food and feasting; please sprinkle the day with generous helpings of thanks.
I long for us, The Body of Christ, to experience celebrations with family and friends that are more than just eating holiday foods, laughter, family shenanigans, and afternoon naps.
I’m not frowning on those things — not at all! Let’s do all that but can we go deeper?
Can we have prayer and worship too?
Can we sing songs together?
Can we encourage one another with the Joy of The LORD – recounting what He has done all year for us?
In other words, can we just flat-out GIVE THANKS? Lots of thanks for HE surely deserves it!

Close Enough!

I do not know who is the Author of this piece but I cannot imagine myself not sharing it with you. I cried and at the end clapped my hands in praise saying Yes, You are! Yes, You are!!

twas’ 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven’s gate.

their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
they were filled with such joy, they didn’t know what to say.
they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
“where are we?” asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
“this is heaven.” declared a small boy. “we’re spending Christmas at God’s house.”
when what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring
those children all flew into the arms of their King
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus’ face.
and as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, “I’ll take care of mom and dad.”
then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe
then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
“Let My power and presence re-enter this land!”
“may this country be delivered from the hands of fools”
“I’m taking back my nation. I’m taking back my schools!”
then He and the children stood up without a sound.
“come now my children, let me show you around.”
excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
and i heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
“in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT.”
Perhaps the scene last Friday morning in Heaven did not go exactly as depicted here but this description is close enough for me to give me great, great comfort!! Close enough for me to see my Holy Savior and give Him praise, worship and adoration!!!

Oh, ABBA, thank You, thank You in JESUS HOLY AND ETERNAL NAME! To HIM be glory forever and ever!!

Blessings of Joy and Peace,

Meet Sara Elizabeth

I may get called away any moment with puppy cries; at the moment she is sleeping; has been for more than an hour; how long are puppy naps, anyway?

Perhaps I will borrow again this morning. My YOU VERSION was good again today.

TWO IN ONE

God looked on His creation of man and saw it was good. Still, something was missing. Man, although created in God’s image, did not express all those beautiful characteristics of a tender, loving God. Therefore, God decided to make woman. Man needed a “helpmate.” When God completed His work and like a proud father presented her to Adam, the man burst out in poetic exclamation: This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man  (Genesis 2:23).

Alone, neither man nor woman can express all the qualities of our God. God created male and female, and together they bear the image of God: So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them (Genesis 1:27). It takes both male and female to make humanity.

Marriage was ordained to bring man and woman together as a unit, completing God’s creation. Jesus lays special stress on this principle: But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate (Mark 10:6-9). In our marriages, we need to properly reflect the character of God.

Perhaps I will get back to writing over the next few days and in the mean time I am grateful for some really really good writings of others.

Blessings of Joy and Peace,
