Happy Day!

Well, the years have clicked away and I have arrived at that milepost in time! I’m officially a senior citizen! But I don’t feel like one! I am reminded of Joshua. I like what he said and while I can’t truthfully say it, I’d like to keep working on it. 🙂

11 but I am as strong today as on the day Moshe sent me — I’m as strong now as I was then, whether for war or simply for going here and there.

My hubby is giving me a GREAT gift for my birthday – his time! He is taking the day off to spend with me and I am thrilled to squealing out loud when he told me. I am blessed beyond! And grateful!

One thing I greatly miss though: my Momma and I used to race to see who could call the other one first. If I was first I would congratulate her for being my Momma and she would wish me a happy happy birthday. Someday we’ll have a heavenly party!

Friends, even if it is not your birthday, make this day count!

James 4:13-15 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such-and-such a city, stay there a year trading and make a profit”! 14 You don’t even know if you will be alive tomorrow! For all you are is a mist that appears for a little while and then disappears. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If Adonai wants it to happen, we will live” to do this or that.

Just a Little Trivia That’s Not so Trivial

11 Upon entering the house, they saw the child with his mother Miryam; and they prostrated themselves and worshipped him. Then they opened their bags and presented him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

via Matthew 2 KJV;CJB – Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of – Bible Gateway.

This as you know is speaking of the Magi. They had traveled far and for many many months, perhaps nearly two years to reach the house described here. They first prostrated themselves and worshiped the GOD Toddler and then offered their gifts. Their gifts were costly and prophetic. Gold, frankincense and myrrh. I have said in 21st Century terms that the Father was paying His Child Support with these gifts and I actually believe that.  Gold to finance the trip to Egypt and back, I think, and perhaps longer until YESHUA was old enough to work in the carpenter shop. However, a little research has told me the frankincense and myrrh may have been even more valuable than the gold. Click HERE and read about these two medicinal, healing resins. And as you may know myrrh is a burial ‘spice’.

Here’s an excerpt: The Roman historian and botanist Pliny the Elder, who recommended frankincense as an antidote to hemlock poisoning, wrote in the first century A.D. that the pricey dried sap had made the southern Arabians the richest people on earth.

Poisoning.

For sure, for sure JESUS is the cure for what has poisoned us. He is surely the antidote for all that ails us.  He surely died to give us life and He is a treasure light years more precious than the purest gold.

As the title of today’s post says: a little trivia that is by no means trivial. I hope you have enjoyed the information and I hope we will all become more and more in AWE of our GOD as we learn more and more that HE is the Master of the Details.  I find much comfort and security in this fact.

ABBA, ADONAI, HOLY SPIRIT, You are Awesome. Thank You, thank You for being You and drawing us to Yourself in YESHUA’s Holy Name.

Sweet Assurance

Isaiah 56 is particularly sweet to me this morning. I was once a foreigner but in His amazing grace ADONAI has invited me in and made covenant with me; even as He has with perhaps YOU. Enjoy, be strengthened today, I pray.

6 “And the foreigners who join themselves to Adonai

to serve him, to love the name of Adonai,

and to be his workers,

all who keep Shabbat and do not profane it,

and hold fast to my covenant,

7 I will bring them to my holy mountain

and make them joyful in my house of prayer;

their burnt offerings and sacrifices

will be accepted on my altar;

for my house will be called

a house of prayer for all peoples.”

More

I think a very brief Word is all I have for us today.

Psalm 19:8  (7) The Torah of Adonai is perfect,
restoring the inner person. [source]

When we as Gentiles see the Word Torah we have been taught to think law. That is not wrong but a proper understanding of Torah is more than just Law.  Torah  in our English language would be more closely related to our word Teaching. The Torah of the LORD is law, instructions, commands, counsel, all that as our schoolmaster to teach us we need a Savior and to teach us how to live while we are here on this planet.  It is the Torah, the Teaching, the Whole Counsel of GOD applied to our minds and hearts by the HOLY SPIRIT that restores our souls.

So when our souls are parched; when we are ill-tempered and out of sorts; when our countenance is downcast and moody, we are in need of the Torah of the LORD. His Word WILL restore and make glad our souls. We just have to feed on His Torah and allow Him to strengthen and heal us.  It is my hope we will.

Thank You, ABBA. I pray, HOLY SPIRIT, You will apply Your Word to our souls and we will be healed in the Mighty Name of ADONAI.
