Explaining

Baby Girl GRAND is stirring about five feet away; nope a roll over and pull the covers up; we may have a couple of minutes here.

Good morning, Dear Friends!

Week two (2) of Summer 2012! And we are off to a fine start. GRANDS still sleeping. I have the veggies and flowers watered, the bed made, some praying and a cup of coffee.  Yes, a fine start, indeed!

One of the passages I read this morning in The Message Bible is found at Psalm 106:6. It’s a lengthy paraphrase of the King James’ English. One phrase was emboldened for me.

 He . . .  pried them loose from the grip of the enemy.

The passage  describes the rescue of Israel from Egypt, particularly the parting of the Red Sea and the closing up of it again on their enemies. He pried them loose from the grip of the enemy. I am taking heart today that even as ABBA pried me loose from the grip of the enemy; He will do the same for some Dear Ones on my list of praying. Perhaps this Word will be emboldened for you today and you will take heart as well.

I also read Psalm 119:81-88. It said this:

Psalm 119

The Message (MSG)

81-88 I’m homesick—longing for your salvation;

I’m waiting for your word of hope.

My eyes grow heavy watching for some sign of your promise;

how long must I wait for your comfort?

There’s smoke in my eyes—they burn and water,

but I keep a steady gaze on the instructions you post.

How long do I have to put up with all this?

How long till you haul my tormentors into court?

The arrogant godless try to throw me off track,

ignorant as they are of God and his ways.

Everything you command is a sure thing,

but they harass me with lies. Help!

They’ve pushed and pushed—they never let up—

but I haven’t relaxed my grip on your counsel.

In your great love revive me

so I can alertly obey your every word.

I noticed the Psalmist was weary in this Passage. And it reminds me of the times I have said, “I’m not complaining; just explaining.” I think he is ‘explaining’ here. :) And ABBA didn’t rebuke him. Perhaps because even in his explaining he kept a steady gaze on the Instructions of the LORD. Even in his explaining he remembers that the commands of the LORD are sure.  And I so appreciated when he said I haven’t relaxed my grip on Your counsel! And because he had not relaxed his grip on ABBA’s counsel, he could then exclaim

In your great love revive me

so I can alertly obey your every word.

This is a worthy goal for today: even when I ‘explain’ my sorrows and griefs to ABBA, I can remember His counsel, His Never-failing promises and commands, His love and THEN I can obey His Word.  Yep! a worthy goal and a doable one! The Psalmist did!

Almost finished and someone is still sleeping.  Shh. :)

ABBA, thank You. Thank You for Your Word that is alive and speaks NOW.  I pray each one who comes here to read and pray will be encouraged and strengthened to hold steady and remember and obey all that You have commanded us.  Thank You, ABBA.  And as I come I am bringing many needs; ones close and ones for others and how helpful and blessed it is that You know each one even better than I and I trust You to work all things for Your glory and our good.  And we come with our sick and afflicted, asking You to heal them and asking You to pry our oblivious and rebellious Ones from the hand of the enemy; giving them grace and space to repent. And asking too for peace and safety for Israel. And mercy for this Nation as well; forgive us, ABBA, send the HOLY SPIRIT, to move us to repentance in JESUS name.  Amen and amen.

We have the God-given Right to do right in this wrong World,
