Praying God’s Word.Beth Moorewrote such a book. I have a copy. See?
It’s one of those books you read again and again. The table of contents will direct you with specific prayer need topics. Clicking the picture here will lead you to a place to purchase, if you are interested. But I’m off point. My intent today was to simply pray the Word of God over us.
The Bible contains many prayers and we can’t go wrong praying them over ourselves and others. I keyed in I pray at BibleGateway dot-com and discovered 413 Scripturereferences. ClickHEREif you’d like to review them. In the meantime, lets pray.
Philippians 1:9I pray that your [our] love will overflow more and more, and that you [we] will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding.10 For I want you [us] to understand what really matters, so that you [we] may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.11 May you[we] always be filled with the fruit of your [our] salvation—the righteous character produced in your life [our lives] by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God [our Abba Father]. source[bracketed mine]
John 16 (TLV) 33These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have shalom. In the world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world!”source
In this world you will have trouble. Period. End of the sentence. You will. I will. I do. You do. And yet. Take heart.
Why? Because He has overcome the world!
Notice it is past tense.
Not I will overcome.
Not I may overcome.
Nope! I have He said!
Perhaps we can look our troubles squarely in the face today and say Perhaps I can’t overcome you. But that’s okay. Because He already has!
For you to see my point in this pic,let me explain.
Our sunflowers are spindly. More than I think they should be. Anyway a week or more ago I noticed one had fallen over; it had a pretty severe bend in its stalk but I decided to leave it rather than pull it up. Good move! :)
Notice its fall was cushioned by a friend. And notice too if you will, resting there with its friend, it began reaching for the sun. It’s green again, putting on leaves and I believe it just may bloom!
I see two parallels, perhaps you see others.
One. When we fall down, look to the Son right where we are and begin to grow again.
Two. Be a friend. Comfort the fallen. Lend them strength. Encourage them in JESUS. Help them look up and begin to grow again. And won’t you be so blessed when they bloom?!
Ecclesiastes 4:10 (NIV)10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who fallsand has no one to help them up.source
We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
