IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, AUGUST 7, 2008
You know what? When I read Luke 8:1 (and by the way that is where Beth began on Friday night when she was in Louisville, Kentucky and I was in Spanish Fort, Alabama) I think about the word ‘afterward’. Because the verse reads: Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him,
It looks to me the ‘afterward’ is after the anointing of His feet by the Woman in Simon’s house. And you know what just came to mind? I’ll tell you. The verse of Scripture about how beautiful are the feet of those who carry the Good News. Oh my! Let me find that! Romans 10: 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Just as a side note before we go where I think we are going. GLAD TIDINGS in both verses. Maybe we will come back to that.
My holy imagination is working again and I am wondering what affect having His Feet washed and anointed by the Woman had on Him AFTERWARD? I wonder how often He thought about it. I wonder if that very act blessed Him all through His ministry here as the God-Man, especially when folks were cruel to Him. I wonder if it reminded Him and was a Sweet Confirmation from Abba of Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! I think the Old Testament Scrolls were so precious to Jesus. I think as a young lad and all His Life here on earth, He poured over them and The Word fed HIM.. This just feels so good to my spirit, right now! Our GOD is AWESOME! Think about it. THE AUTHOR OF THE WORD read THE WORD!
I wonder whose spiritual ‘feet’ we could wash today that would be an AFTERWARD to them. An AFTEWARD that would inspire and give strength and comfort to that soul to bring the glad tidings of the kingdom of God to cities and villages. And one more Scripture comes to mind. Matthew 25: 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
I think I should ‘hush’ now except for praying that this message sink in and make a difference in us.
Oh, ABBA, YOU are so AWESOME. This Word bears much digesting and then action. I want to do it. I want to wash YOUR FEET – Your BEAUTIFUL FEET that brought the GOOD NEWS, the GLAD TIDINGS of Salvation to me. Thank You Jesus for walking on Your BEAUTIFUL FEET all the way to Calvary. Lord, someday allow me to kiss Your Holy Feet there in Heaven and even today in Spirit. Who out there needs Your Touch? Touch them through me I pray. What an honor it would be to serve You today by serving others. You are SO AWESOME!! Thank You. Thank You for the miracle You are giving my Baby Girl; we are waiting to see what other Glories You have to perform in and through her. And we remember now and bring our petitions for protection for our IDOK Troops. Lord, is there a way we could wash their feet even from this distance? Instruct us, we are waiting to hear and serve. We bring this list of dear ones to You for Your Touch of grace and mercy. We pray as You have directed us for the Peace of Israel. And Lord again I am asking You to expose Obama. The mainstream media is not telling the truth about him. I pray You will explode the truth to America’s People before the November election. And I pray You will balance me and others like me who are so concerned. Cause us to trust You and fear not even in the face of this peril.
