Praying for the Barneses

Another request for prayer.

Martha Barnes, Mother to Ann H. The doctor is said to be upbeat but has asked Ann to come. Ann asks for prayer for her Mother and especially for her Dad.

Thank you for praying,
Kathie

Betty update

Just popping in on this fine Saturday afternoon hoping you are having a memorable Memorial Day weekend loving on your families and praising JESUS for those who have sacrificed so much for the freedoms we have in the blessed and privileged nation that we call our home away from HOME.

And secondly I want to give you the update on Betty that I just received, asking that you continue in your praying for Betty.

I am continuing to be grateful to be HIS Handmaiden,
Kathie

Melinda’s update to you:

Good Saturday to all!
Betty sat in chair for two hours this morning and ate her breakfast while sitting up.  Eats with her left hand and so far, so good.  She will go to Patricia Neal Rehab on Monday. Her heart rate is down.  She is getting IV meds for her heart and antibiotics for the sinus, upper respiratory infection.
Please pray for her words to come and for her patience with therapy.  It will be hard for her.  Pray, too, for healing from her infection.  It is going to be a long haul for her and I am praying that the remainder of the clot will not damage her brain any more.
Love, and thanks, for all the concern and prayers!  We are grateful to God for you!
Melinda

This is One Time I Don’t Want to be Slender

2 Timothy 2: (King James Version)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. via 2 Timothy 2:14-16 – Passage Lookup – King James Version – BibleGateway.com.

I think this passage has never been more clear than it is this morning with Charles Spurgeon’s commentary from, yes you guessed it, Morning and Evening:

“Saints whose faith is weak, and whose knowledge is slender, are great losers; they are exposed to many enemies, and cannot follow the king whithersoever he goeth.”

A loser exposed to the enemy and who cannot follow hard after JESUS, is just the person I DO NOT want to be!

And there is only ONE way for me to be not that person.

Study to show myself approved — otherwise I will be ashamed!

This is an excellent, encouraging word for me this morning. I bless and praise the LORD to have it. Perhaps you do too.

I am thinking of you this morning and in these moments remembering you to JESUS.

I am remembering too and encouraging us to pray for Doug and Kelly Cote. On Wednesday, I think, their 11 year old son died on the playground of his school at the end of the year party. I don’t know what DADDY GOD is doing with this but I am certain that He is there to comfort and heal all the hearts that are shattered by this. I cannot imagine the unfathomable grief and horror this family is experiencing.  Only the HOLY SPIRIT can heal them. And we can be servants and helpers with our prayers.

And Jonathan Burkhalter; in his mid 40s, wonderful Christian man diagnosed with cancer. I am posting the request in full on our notice page. Click HERE to be taken there.

Also remembering Betty, Melinda’s sister.  You may also read more about Betty’s condition by clicking HERE.

Others are also listed at PFT.  Click HERE to call their names before the LORD.

Thank You, ABBA, for this ministry and for the privilege of praying for many people. Thank You for each One. And for each I pray that we will be workmen that need not to be ashamed; that we will study Your Word and be fully equipped to help all those You bring to us. HOLY SPIRIT, call and raise up warriors to intercede for the Cote family and the Burkhalter family and Betty and Melinda and all we know in need.  Amen and amen.

Grace and Peace,
Kathie
