Networking

Daily writing prompt
Do you remember life before the internet?

Barely.

Although most of my life was without the internet.
I think I only got a personal email address in 1998 or 1999, maybe. And when I got it! Oh my goodness it was better than sliced bread! And now? I rarely get an email that I read.
I glance at emails that tell me my order has been received or some other invoice or billing will be due on such and such date.
Do people send personal emails that others actually read? Outside of the work environment, I mean.

The Internet.

It promised to connect us instantly around the world — it did; it does. And I’m glad!

However, I have noticed since all this networking came to be — we are now more isolated than decades ago living 3 1/2 miles from town on a farm with only one vehicle and one driver.

But I’m looking on the bright side, Amazon, Walmart, DoorDash, and a host of other entities deliver right to our front doors!!

Just saying. . .

Eye Candy

We are home again; here in Lower Alabama, I mean.
We packed the laptop safely to travel every mile and it did, right there safe and sound the whole time, just like we packed it.
This must be the first time EVER I have left it in its bag – didn’t open it once!

But, I’m back — at least for tonight.
It’s been a while and honestly, I have nothing outstanding to post – there’s more unpacking to do but I just had to check-in.

We came home to some Eye Candy ( I mean that in a most innocent sense).
Want to see?

One more — can any of you tell me what this is?
We saw several of them as we traveled. I’d be so pleased to know what it is.

Thank you kindly if you can help identify this plant.

May The LORD look upon you with favor and give you peace.

Love, Kathie

Zip, Zip, Zip

The days are zipping by!

Hot, cold, warm, and cool all these temps with only hours or days separating.
It’s crazy but you know what — It’s not new.
There’s nothing new under the sun.

Seasons, trends, conditions, etc. come and go. And sooner or later everything old becomes new again — except for these frail bodies we inhabit.
Even facelifts and parts lifts do not stop the process of death we were born into. Yikes! I didn’t see that coming when I started this paragraph.
Oh well, it is what it is.

What has been is what will be,
what has been done is what will be done,
and there is nothing new
under the sun.
10 Is there something of which it is said,
“See, this is new”?
It existed already in the ages before us.   source

Give it Time

If you are about to give up on some good, godly thing — don’t!

The winter was hard on a lovely spring, summer, and fall plant we much enjoyed!
It’s April!
And it was still looking dead, dead.  See what I mean?  img_8208

Today, I was about done – about to trash it BUT then I saw this!

So, here is my encouragement for us today.  If it was a thing of beauty; if it was a gift from The Father; if it’s good and godly — give it some more time.

Love, Kathie
