One Rotten Potato

One rotten potato will stink up the whole bag of potatoes; more than the whole bag the stench escapes the bag and when you get close you can smell it!  img_8011 Phew!!

And if you leave that rotten potato in close contact with the other potatoes they will all go bad too.
Y’all know that right?

Now think people.

So the bag is a group, a congregation if you please.
The potatoes are  – you guessed it, People.

And if that rottenness is not removed — well, you know what happens.img_8012
If, however, you catch the spoilage early enough you can do ‘surgery’, cut off the bad part, and the remainder of the potato can still be used. It will still be nourishment to those who need it.

The one above, I did not catch it soon enough — no sparing that one, and all the others around it had to have a thorough washing before they were worthy to feed.

Got the picture?
It’s not a perfect picture but useful, I think.
Is Scripture coming to mind?

Yeah, mine too!

A Must Phrase

A must phrase, I must make my own.

I strongly suggest you read this verse in CONTEXT because what I am about to write is out of context but for me muchly applies.

So. What’s the must phrase that I must make my own?

But so what?

Yes. that’s the phrase. But so what?

Let me give it to you from my study notes.
A phrase I need to make my own.
So what if he or she said this or that or did this or that, or didn’t.
So what!
What matters is ‘is JESUS glorified by the way I RESPOND to it, to him, to her, to all people and all things? ‘

That’s it.  Goodnight. What-Must-We-Do.001

Wonder No More

John 6

Do you ever wonder if JESUS would turn you away?
Do you ever wonder if He will forgive you?
Do you ever wonder if He will really, truly, save YOU?

Well, wonder no more!

37 Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will certainly not turn away. source

Of course, there are a couple of conditions.

1. The Father must give you the invitation to come to Him. He does this by Holy Spirit convicting you of your sin and your need to repent to be forgiven and He confirms to you that JESUS is indeed the Messiah – Savior of the World, including YOU.
This chapter of John 6 makes it clear that it is the will of the Father for you, for all of us, to TRUST JESUS. I encourage you to read the chapter. A link is provided herein.

Condition 2 is that you accept His invitation and follow through by repenting of your sinful state and by trusting His Son, JESUS, forever and ever Amen.

Are you convicted? Are you convinced? Then by all means say YES,  I Do before the invitation is withdrawn.

And then YOU will have to wonder — NO MORE.

There is much more in John 6 that I wondered about.  Like how did Andrew know a young lad had 5 loaves of barley bread and 2 fish?
Perhaps that’s silly or trivial but I did wonder — just being honest here.

59 He said these things while he was teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum. source

And I also wondered if people are still as put off today as they were when John 6 happened when JESUS told them they had to eat His flesh and drink His blood to have eternal life in them?
I wonder if this word picture He gave depicts how distasteful it is for people to confess they are hell-deserving sinners in need of The Only Savior?shutterstock_187826798
I wonder if He used these very words to bring reality to their very faces?
You see His very FLESH had to be torn to pieces and His very BLOOD spilled out for YOU and ME to be saved from the eternal death we were born into.
Do you remember some years ago songs from hymn books about the BLOOD of JESUS were removed?
Why? Because it was so distasteful. Some folks didn’t want to sing those words.

Do you ever wonder if there really is a Last Day?
Well, Yeshua spoke of the Last Day, three times in this one chapter.

There is a Last Day.

Should we not be asking people if they know if they will be raised up on that Last Day?
Do you know for sure YOU will be raised up at the Last Day?
I had to ask.
I can’t suggest you ask others and me not ask others, can I?

I am mindful that more than not my posts these days are somber; not easy reads, not funny, and not rose-colored, but neither are the days in which we live and neither is a future without JESUS.
Somebody has got to give the bad news AND the Greatest News EVER!  — it might as well be me!

Love, Kathie

I Do

Good Morning.

May I give you something to ponder?

John 5: 45 to 47.

Yeshua is speaking here with people who are well familiar with the Scrolls of Moses, all those GOD-breathed words preserved for them and for us.

45 “But don’t think that it is I who will be your accuser before the Father. Do you know who will accuse you? Moshe, the very one you have counted on! 46 For if you really believed Moshe, you would believe me; because it was about me that he wrote. 47 But if you don’t believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?”  source

Scripture.
How do we read it?
Do we read it as the Books that will judge the conduct of mankind?
We should read it that way — don’t you think?

How does our day-to-day conduct line up with Scripture?
Will the Scripture exonerate us or condemn us when those Books are opened in Heaven?

Before closing, I am reminded of one more Scripture address.

So the question must be are we in UNION with JESUS?
What does union mean?
We will need some other words to describe the word union.
How about agreement, and harmony?
How about the state of matrimony?
Do we habitually live in a state of agreement, harmony, and even more accurately descriptive: covenant-matrimony with JESUS?
Look at it this way: do our lives say we have answered I DO to this question:
Do you take this Savior Yeshua HaMashiach as your only Savior to Love Him, Honor Him, and Obey Him until death you depart this earth?
That my Friends is IN UNION.
I told you I had something for us to ponder! Historic+Chabad+Orthodox+Jewish+Wedding+in+Times+Square+Manhattan+New+York+NYC+Photo+by+Chaim+Schvarcz+(9)
