Bliss

Mark 16: 14 Later, Jesus appeared to the eleven [disciples] themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He called them to account for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen [from death]. source

This is beautiful and encouraging and wonderful and comforting to me.  Did I get your attention?

It’s true. It is. Do you want to know why?

He called them to account for their unbelief and hardness of heart.

I want Him to call me to account early, as early as possible, for any unbelief in my being, because when I repent I will be saved from untold horrors. A consistently repentant heart cannot be a hardened heart!

And there’s another reason. When He calls me to account I am again assured that I belong to Him. I am His and He is mine.  Hebrews 12:7-11

Deceit

I checked present dictionary sources first; Webster 1828 is much stronger. And I think strong is needed.

DECE’IT,
1. Literally, a catching or ensnaring. Hence, the misleading of a person; the leading of another person to believe what is false, or not to believe what is true, and thus to ensnare him; fraud; fallacy; cheat; any declaration, artifice or practice, which misleads another, or causes him to believe what is false.

My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit Job 27:4.
2. Stratagem; artifice; device intended to mislead.
They imagine deceits all the day long. Psalms 38:12.
3. In scripture, that which is obtained by guile, fraud or oppression.
Their houses are full of deceit Jeremiah 5:27. Zeph. I.
4. In law, any trick, device, craft, collusion, shift, covin, or underhand practice, used to defraud another.  source

Seventy times the King James version of the Bible uses the word deceit or deceitfully.  Click HERE for the listing.

Genesis 34:13 is the first mention. Hebrews 3:13 is the last mention. It’s strong too.

Hebrews 3:13 (TLV) 13 But encourage one another day by day—as long as it is called “Today”—so that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. source

Lets go back to the definition above.  Catching. Ensnaring. Leading someone to believe what is false. Leading someone to disbelieve what is true. Fraud. Who would do such?!

Are you familiar with the first deception perpetrated on mankind? Do you know who the perpetrator was? He continues to be  exceedingly aggressive today.  If you are interested, check out Genesis 3. There you will find the father of deceit is Satan.

We are instructed in Hebrews 3:13 to encourage one another daily while we have the opportunity.  I hope I am doing that. It is His will for us; each of us who have received His gift of salvation to encourage others; to lead others to believe the Truth; to deceive no one.

Colossians 2:6  (AMP) Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in [union with] Him [reflecting His character in the things you do and say—living lives that lead others away from sin]source

Acts of sexual immorality

Honestly, I’d like to skip over this one, but — well, that will not do.

So what is sexual immorality? Sexual immorality per se is not given in Webster’s 1828 edition. However, immorality is defined as:

IMMORALITY, noun Any act or practice which contravenes the divine commands (emphasis mine) or the social duties. Injustice, dishonesty, fraud, slander, profaneness, gaming, intemperance, lewdness, are immoralities. All crimes are immoralities, but crime expresses more than immorality  source

Like it or not sexual intimacy beyond what is prescribed in the Holy Scriptures is sexual immorality.

1 Corinthians 7:2 (KJV) Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. source

And for those married folks:

Hebrews 13:4  (KJV)4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. source   This just might be better than we have yet believed.

Answering further is Leviticus 18 If you are not familiar with this chapter of Holy Writ, I hope you will use the link provided; there you will find three translations to choose from and there you will read that GOD has covered it all.

The boundaries of sexual morality are narrow, extremely narrow, for the purpose of broadening the pleasure of GOD’s Children beyond mere human delight and satisfaction.

Mark 7: 20 And He said, “Whatever comes from [the heart of] a man, that is what defiles and dishonors him. 21 For from within, [that is] out the heart of men, come base and malevolent thoughts and schemes, acts of sexual immorality, thefts, murders, adulteries, 22 acts of greed and covetousness, wickedness, deceit, unrestrained conduct, envy and jealousy, slander and profanity, arrogance and self-righteousness and foolishness (poor judgment). 23 All these evil things [schemes and desires] come from within and defile and dishonor the man. source
