When I ask this question it is most often because I don’t know where someone is; I am asking to locate them.
Did you know that was the FIRST question GOD asked Adam? Unlike me He was not asking because He didn’t know but because Adam and Eve needed to know WHERE they were.
Did you know GOD did not ask the first question?
Do you know who did ask the first question?

The evil one through his minions tempts everyone.
EVERYONE.
And in these temptations, as people obey the tempter it brings about the evil one’s goal to steal, kill, and destroy. See John 10:10

BUT GOD.
He tempts NO ONE!
But He does TEST His OWN.
These TESTS that come at the Hand of GOD only to His saints is to show us what is IN us – be it a particular area of strength to appreciate and yield for more strength OR to show us a well-hidden (from us) sin that we must admit and allow Him to help us forsake. See John 15:2; Hebrews 12:8
GOD is always good.
He is always right.
He is always just.
HE IS LOVE.
IF this is not your understanding of HIM, I urge You to seek Him for the why.
