I am continuing to read from Genesis to maps. It continues to be the most happy read for me. I have attempted multiple times to read the Bible through, one book after another in successive order as preserved for us, and this is the first time I have reached 2 Samuel. This is a sweet journey for me. I urge you not to wait till you are as old as I am to take this journey yourself.
Some days will be sweeter than others but all days reading The Word are better.
David.
He asked questions of The LORD and The LORD answered. He went in and sat before The LORD.
I made a note in the margin: teach me how to come and sit before You.
The Bible.
We are so fortunate to have it! To have it and to have the ability to read! What a glorious privilege! Let us not squander or ignore these magnificent gifts for trivial amusements.
Even though I am no further along than this (see the pic) I cannot recall enjoying reading my Bible more than these first five months of 2024.
I am reading for the pleasure of spending time with the LORD and I think it shall take way more than 7 more months for me to get to Maps. But you know what? That’s well okay with me. I am thrilled with the journey! So may I encourage you? Pick up your Bible and read. Read and fellowship with the GOD who wrote it for you.
Tomorrow, LORD willing, I will be moving into the reading of Joshua.
Today was the finish of Deuteronomy. I am grateful for the gleanings.
I have a picture and a few questions for you.
Do you see what was the sin that prevented Moses from setting foot onto the Promised Land? Aaron too for that matter, but Aaron died even earlier than did Moses. What else do you see? Do you read Scripture with a mind open to hear what HOLY SPIRIT has to say to you? I hope so. That is my hope too, for myself, and so far this year has been the best in recent memory.
May I encourage you, please, to READ SCRIPTURE.
Here we are the first Saturday night of 2024. I’ve enjoyed our week. Daughters, Great-Grands, Grands, Friends, Work, a new chicken recipe, soap that makes my hands smell good, a catch-up phone conversation with a forever friend, reading in Genesis that is more alive than ever before. Yep. A good week.
We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
