New Leaf

I really don’t have to confess this here because I’ve voiced nothing here about last Wednesday other than revealing an afternoon of prayer, but I am.

I got caught up in the grieving, emotional grieving, rather than Scriptural grieving, I’ve come to see. I repent!

Assassination. It’s heinous! No one deserves that! Neither should a mere human be idolized, yet we may be seeing it done, I’m afraid.

Still others may, as a result of Wednesday, turn over a new leaf, but I’ve discovered leaves blow every which way with raw emotions.

A new leaf will not cover us. Please recall with me in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve made for themselves coverings of fig leaves.
A new leaf, we might say.
The Creator rejected their leaf coverings and He made for them coverings of skin (coverings which they accepted!).
He made those coverings because He required and still does a Blood Sacrifice for the remission of sins. Please note that the Requirement is HIS Requirement, and that HE is the One who provides the means to satisfy the Requirement.  What more could we ask?

I have marveled again and again that many people are content to watch the shedding of blood in movies, even paying for such in the name of entertainment. Moreover, some resort to shedding blood themselves, either as we saw on Wednesday or in so-called medical clinics, etc., and yet to speak of the BLOOD of YESHUA (JESUS  if you prefer) is an affront to more people than to those that it is not. Go figure that.
We are a blood-thirsty world, but not for the cleansing, regenerating Blood of the ONE who can give us LIFE, here and now, and forever.

So, as a result of September 10, 2025, please don’t turn over a new leaf, don’t make resolutions to read your Bible, and do good deeds.  Yes. I did say that.
Instead, seek with all your mind, heart, every ounce of your being to KNOW The JESUS of the BIBLE (the Reading and good deeds will follow). Please seek to know the JESUS who is better than any new leaf you can turn over again and again and again.

I am not interested in you or anyone setting out to follow a bunch of dos and don’ts. I am interested in you and everyone having a saving, never-ending encounter with The GODMAN, who is worthy of our love, trust, worship, adoration, and allegiance now and forever.

Today, I am not going to expound on patriotism, America, or any of that, other than to point you to what  JESUS  said at Mark 12:17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.  Mark 12  I hope you will use the link; perhaps you will notice it is taxes we owe Caesar. And in some of the Epistles of Paul, we are commanded to pray for all the Caesars of the Land and to obey the laws of the Land that do not violate the Scriptures.

What else Scripture tells me that I owe to this Land, I know not.
This temporary Land we do appreciate, and it would MOST benefit from our unwavering and exclusive allegiance to our Creator GOD, revealed to us in JESUS the CHRIST, quickened to us by HOLY SPIRIT through the Scriptures.

So yes. Do we need to read our Bibles daily? Absolutely! But not because we have a new leaf but because we desire to be cleansed from head to toe, inside and out by the BLOOD of the Risen LORD of The Universe.

One more thought: salvation is not a fire insurance policy that we apply for and then go on with our old sin-filled ways until cash-in day.   Nope. See Matthew 7:23

Laboring or Resting?

Labor Day

Observed the first Monday in September, Labor Day is an annual celebration of the social and economic achievements of American workers. The holiday is rooted in the late nineteenth century, when labor activists pushed for a federal holiday to recognize the many contributions workers have made to America’s strength, prosperity, and well-being.

And so, since June 28, 1894, Labor Day has been a Federal holiday here in America.  The first Labor Day parade is depicted here:

And so, today, some will rest from their customary work, while others will attend their jobs as usual.  As you would expect from me, I have to tie this to Scripture.  For sure I do!😊

Rest. Because of the Unsurpassed Labor of the LORD JESUS, you and I have REST.
Rest from the labor of trying to save ourselves! We have and can continue RESTING in the Finished Work of Our Savior. That’s really good news, any day, not just today!

Matthew 11: 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. KJV

So I have to ask, are you laboring today or resting?

Reckon?

As I sit to write, it is August 19, 2025.
Today, Facebook brought back a four-year-old memory.

Today, a devotional reading told me GOD’s command to me is to Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.

Now you will not read this little piece of writing until tomorrow or even some uncertain day to come — will the message be the same?  Will GOD still mean what He said 2,000 years ago – Matthew 28? I reckon He will!!

16 Meanwhile, the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain Jesus had designated. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him, but some doubted.18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  source

So, now I am wondering, you who are reading this right now – yes, you.  Has anyone ever told you about JESUS, or if you prefer, YESHUA?
Do you know His Story?
If not, do you want to know His Story?
I’m just wondering how many people in the world have not heard that JESUS is,  just how many people do not know HE is the Savior? And just how many people actually care to know.
Do you wonder that too?

Let me ask again,  have you heard that JESUS is The CHRIST – The Savior and that He is willing to save YOU?
One other question — do you reckon you need to be saved?

Actually, I am more than wondering; I am willing to tell you what I know about JESUS if you are hungry to hear.
A song I heard on Sunday, in part, gave these words: Come home, come home
You who are weary, come home
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling
Calling, O sinner, come home…
You who are weary — and I thought maybe that’s why the altar is so bare, people are not yet weary of the burden of their sin.

It is my earnest prayer that people become weary of their sins — because this I know, when they get weary, JESUS is ready to lift, cleanse, and save!

I reckon that’s all for now —
