Keep Letting

Day 23 of 35  Soul Detox

Romans 12:1-21

Devotional

The toxic lie so many of us believe is because everyone else does it, it’s okay for us and won’t harm us. The truth is just because everyone else does it, doesn’t mean that it’s right for us spiritually.

How have you seen toxic influences in your life affect your relationship with God and others?

via Soul Detox | YouVersion.com.

I hope you will read all the verses. At the link given above you will find both the Complete Jewish Bible (which I have come to treasure) and an older favorite of mine, the New American Standard Bible translation.

2 . . . Instead, keep letting yourselves be transformed by the renewing of your minds; so that you will know what God wants and will agree that what he wants is good, satisfying and able to succeed.

via Romans 12:1-21 CJB;NASB – I exhort you, therefore, brothers, in – Bible Gateway.

Keep letting yourselves be transformed by the renewing of your minds.

My Friends, the command is KEEP LETTING. The transformation we desire is GOD’s WORK.  Our transformation comes by HIS POWER when we keep on keeping on one choice after another to THINK ABBA’s Way.  It’s an uphill climb; an uphill climb that we CAN in YESHUA’s Name do.

Doubling Up

Day 21 – Soul Detox

Isaiah 26:1-11

Devotional

Choose by faith to not put your faith in the “what ifs”, but put your faith in God and God alone. This will help you break free from the bondage of toxic fears.

In what ways are you seeking God on a regular basis?

via Soul Detox | YouVersion.com.

And excellent question for us to answer today. And as to verses from our Text, I am pondering this one:

10 Even if pity is shown to the wicked,

he still doesn’t learn what righteousness is.

In a land of uprightness he will still act wrongly

and fail to see the majesty of Adonai.

via Isaiah 26:1-11 CJB;NASB – On that day this song will be sung in – Bible Gateway.

Day 22 – Soul Detox

Proverbs 25:26-27

3 John 1:11

Devotional

Our lives are full of cultural toxins, which are those things that are culturally acceptable, but hurt our souls. Cultural toxins can be found in the books we read, the magazines we read, the music we listen to, the television shows we watch, and in the movies we watch. When we allow cultural toxins into our lives, it pollutes us. This week you will learn what God’s Word says about the dangers of cultural toxins and the importance of focusing on things that draw us closer to God.

What are some of the cultural toxins you currently have in your life? How have you seen these toxins pollute your life?

via Soul Detox | YouVersion.com.

3 John 1:11  Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

11 Dear friend, don’t imitate the bad, but the good. Those who do what is good are from God; those who do what is bad are not from God.

via Proverbs 25:26-27; 3 John 1:11 CJB;NASB – Like a muddied spring or a polluted – Bible Gateway.

Do not imitate the bad.

Cultural toxins.

Think back to half time – 2013 Super Bowl. Who even in the ‘Christian’ community speaks the name of Beyoncé with admiration? (To tell you the truth – I had to look up her name to write this post and those 3 seconds of the half time I watched I didn’t even know who she was by sight. Not bragging, just stating facts. :)  )

Point is this. Christians, beware who you admire; beware who you imitate; beware who you dress like, talk like, live like.

Matthew 7:16 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

16 You will recognize them by their fruit. Can people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?

via Matthew 7:16 CJB;NASB – You will recognize them by their fruit. – Bible Gateway.

A Merry Monday to you all!

Seek

Day 20 – Soul Detox

Psalms 34:1-22

Devotional

In order to face the “what ifs” of fear, you must seek God until He takes away your fears.

How different could your life be if you put your full trust in God and strived to seek Him daily?

via Soul Detox | YouVersion.com.

That is a question well worth answering.
Full trust in GOD.
Would full trust in HIM bring you and me to the place of courage to overcome our fears? What does Psalm 34 say?

(4) I sought Adonai, and he answered me; he rescued me from everything I feared.

via Psalms 34:1-22 CJB;NASB – By David, when he pretended to be – Bible Gateway.
