Birds and Worries

Reading time: 2 minutes

If The WORD of GOD has fallen on the heart of any individual since the assassination of Charlie Kirk, what soil of heart did it fall upon?

Time will tell.

The Parable of the Sower reveals the conditions of mankind’s hearts.

Matthew 13:  1That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea. 2 Such large crowds gathered around Him that He got into a boat and sat down, while all the people stood on the shore. 3 And He told them many things in parables, saying, “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 And as he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.  5 Some fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun rose, the seedlings were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the seedlings. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil and produced a crop—a hundredfold, sixtyfold, or thirtyfold.  9He who has ears, let him hear.”  source

Reading further in the chapter, we learn the Seed is the Word of GOD, the Gospel of JESUS. We also learn that this GOSPEL is spread abroad, offered to people for acceptance or rejection. When that Seed falls on the soil of the heart of a repentant, receptive soul, salvation comes, and fruit will follow.

The Parable reveals types and conditions to us. Some people hear The Gospel, and their hearts are so cold, deceived, and/or callous that they immediately turn away.  Some hear the Gospel and have an emotional response that feels good for a while, but the pull of the world is so strong that they return to life as usual.  Still others also have an emotional response that lasts for a while, but disappointments come, and they figure this GOD-thing is not for me and go on their way.
And then there are the few who hear The Gospel, admit their need of The Savior, that He is the only One with holy forgiveness and Life, and they say YES! And as they walk with JESUS, He produces fruit in them; the more they yield to Him, the more fruit.

Did GOD birth you into His Kingdom since September 10? Then there will be fruit.

Did GOD impart a revelation of Himself in you since September 10? Then there will be fruit.

Some a hundred-fold, some sixty-fold, some thirty-fold.

Thirty is better than nothing, but let’s not settle for the least. Whatcha say?

Remember Lot’s wife.
Even those not well acquainted with the Bible recognize — Remember Lot’s wife.

The account of Lot’s Wife can be found in Genesis 19.  I don’t think it was a simple glance back that caught Lot’s wife in the falling sulphur.  I think it was the longing in her soul to go back, to go back to the life she loved, her life in Sodom.  And as she stood there, frozen, unwilling to move forward, unwilling to leave what was, death took her.  She lost her life trying to save it.

Nitty-Gritty

Image from You Version
2-minute read time.

We are urged here to offer our bodies, the vessels in which we attend this mortal journal, as living sacrifices. This tells me that JESUS has not asked me to die for Him.
But HE did die for me, HE died for you. He arose too. Don’t miss that – most important!

Again, He has not asked us to die for Him; He has asked us to LIVE for Him in these mortal bodies.

I actually don’t think HE will ask me to physically die for Him. I am confident that I will physically die and that when it happens, He will be with me, by His Spirit. I am not ruling out, you understand, that I might live in this mortal body until He returns.

Now there are forces of evil in this hostile world who just might position us to die for JESUS.
Even so, I’m not pondering on that, but I am seeking to grow so faithfully intimate with YESHUA now that there wouldn’t be a moment’s hesitation to die for His Name.

Before I close, I need to go back to the verse. What does it ask of us?  Living Sacrifices.

We are urged to be Living Sacrifices for JESUS.
What does that look like?

This comes from a secular source, but I think it’s a good definition of the word ‘sacrifice.’
The act of giving up something highly valued for the sake of something else considered to have a greater value or claim.

Wow! Is He of greater value to us, and do we ascribe to Him a greater claim on us than this world?  I figure the answer is an easy yes until it gets down to the nitty-gritty of my comfort in daily living; you, too?

We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
