Serving the Needy

20 She reaches out to embrace the poor and opens her arms to the needy.

via Proverbs 31 KJV;CJB – The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy – Bible Gateway.

I am privileged to know and love a Proverbs 31 Woman in the making! And just yesterday she lived out our verse for today. Please pray with me that others with more resources and more knowledge to garner resources will come forward to continue the work She helped begin yesterday for a young homeless mother with three children.

Thank you my Friends.

Be Hidden in CHRIST,

Pups

This excerpt from my You Version Reading Plan prompts this post.

Two puppies were thrown into a backyard wading pool by their playful master. One yelped hysterically while the other romped and played in the cool water. The master observed that the difference was not in the pool but in the pups.

Same pool. Same water temperature. Same environment, but what a difference!

Lets say we are pups.  How will we respond when we hit the water today? How have we already responded thus far?

The pups’ master in our little story we assume loved his pups; he is characterized as playful; meaning throwing them into the pool was a benevolent act. An act not to harm them but to give them an opportunity to enjoy being a puppy. Perhaps he had a plan; a plan to take them on a journey that included a much larger body of water – the pool was preparatory.

We have a Benevolent Master and He has a plan: that we enjoy being a human AND He definitely has us on a journey and He definitely prepares us for the next large body of water. Question is . . .

Which pup am I? Which pup are you?

The MASTER speaks:

John 10:10 The thief comes only in order to steal, kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, life in its fullest measure.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

Be Hidden in CHRIST,

ABBA, thank You for this story, thank You for the prompt, thank You for the lesson; thank You for forgiveness since I already messed up BUT in this moment I can begin again and not only me but all of us; thank You for being more than benevolent toward us! I pray for each person who comes here to read and pray or just to read for whatever reason; I pray, HOLY SPIRIT, all will experience You as a benevolent, playful, serious, all-wise, loving, kind, perfect Master, Savior, Friend and ABBA.  And with our praises and our thankfulness we come with our petitions for Others and as we bring their names and faces before You we trust You to do all things well concerning them. {Jamie, Terri, Jill, Nicole, Dori, Kerri, Lance, Anna, John, Valerie, Perry, ________} And we pray for Others to receive strength to repent and believe on and in JESUS name.

Little Lights

Luke 11:33 “No one who has kindled a lamp hides it or places it under a bowl; rather, he puts it on a stand, so that those coming in may see its light.

via Luke 11:32-34 KJV;CJB – The men of Nineve shall rise up in the – Bible Gateway.

However small, dim and tiny we have believed our lights (influence) to be; take heart. This world is plenty dark for your light to shine.

Be Hidden in CHRIST,

I read Be Hidden in CHRIST and I smiled; I believe it’s true, ABBA, the more hidden we are in Your SON the more light we can bring to this dark world. Thank You for anointing our eyes to see. Now anoint us again to reflect and bring hope to the world in JESUS name. I am reminded of Alexis. Frightening news. Just disappeared at 17. Her family is worried, ABBA. I pray You will comfort their hearts and give them a soon word. I pray for Alexis that she will be returned home safe and sound.Thank You for every prayer offered here, ABBA, and thank You for Your answers.

Still and Smiling

Mother’s Days are not the same for me since my Momma went to Heaven; even so yesterday was a lovely day.  And I am grateful for every loved one that graced the day with me either by phone, text or face to face. Hubby and I lunched at Olive Garden and our server, Amanda, was a pleasure to meet. As the HOLY SPIRIT brings her to mind we will continue to pray for her. Yesterday was her Grandfather’s birthday but he slipped from this life earlier this year so she was concerned for her Grandmother; hoping her day would  not be overwhelmingly sad.

It is quiet at the Thompson house this morning. I hear distance traffic and the hum of the ceiling fan. And perhaps the whisper of the sewing machine calling me to come, sit and sew. That calling I suspect will get loud in just a bit. :)

Be Still

A phrase I keyed in at Bible Gateway dot-com. Seven references were found. Perhaps one is particularly familiar to you; it is to me.

Psalm 46:  10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

via Psalm 46:9-11 KJV;CJB – He maketh wars to cease unto the end of – Bible Gateway.

Oh Happy Day when He is exalted by those who now spurn Him; when all the peoples of the earth will exalt Him. I am eager for that day.

Psalm 4: 4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

via Psalm 4:3-5 KJV;CJB – But know that the LORD hath set apart – Bible Gateway.

Do you know one of the meanings for the word Selah is stop and think about that? So I did. And what I think is if we stood in more awe of Him, we would sin less.

Mark 4:38-40 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

38 But he was in the stern on a cushion, asleep. They woke him and said to him, “Rabbi, doesn’t it matter to you that we’re about to be killed?” 39 He awoke, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” The wind subsided, and there was a dead calm. 40 He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Have you no trust even now?”

via Mark 4:38-40 KJV;CJB – And he was in the hinder part of the – Bible Gateway.

Have you ever walked in the den and found a little one fast asleep right there on the floor because he was just so tuckered out? You stood still and smiled for a moment, didn’t you? Can you imagine the LORD JESUS asleep on that ship? Why was He sleeping? And why did the Disciples awaken Him as they did? There was no standing still and smiling was there?

When JESUS appears to be quiet in one of our raging storms, do we accuse Him of being asleep? Do we accuse Him of not caring?  Perhaps if we stood still and smiled just for a moment, we wouldn’t. :)

Be Hidden in CHRIST,

ABBA, I pray for a still and smiling day for myself and our Dear Ones who come here to read. YESHUA, seeing You asleep was just too much for the Disciples in that moment, but they learned better and I pray so will we.
Still I ask You to heal Jamie and Terri and Lance and Rick (both of them); and others: Heather and the children. Leslie she would so like to go home from the hospital today and begin to gain strength. And the woman in the elevator yesterday and her husband – thank You for reminding me – they will need strength today and many other blessings, I pray this for them. And my Sisters in Blog land as they write and speak I pray for physical stamina, for wisdom and discernment and Your Anointing upon them. And for all of us in our ordinary extraordinary respective days, I pray for sweet surrender to Your LORDSHIP in all things.
