Equanimity

John 14 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

14 “Don’t let yourselves be disturbed. Trust in God and trust in me.
via John 14 KJV;CJB – Let not your heart be troubled: ye – Bible Gateway.

Don’t let yourselves be disturbed.

LET.

What a word! Three little letters telling me I have a choice! I have a choice to be not disturbed. What is disturbed, anyway?

The King James Version uses the word troubled. Either way. It is something we do not want to be but I can truthfully say, “been there; done that”.

We could say disturbed is to:

to cause one inward commotion, take away his calmness of mind, disturb his equanimity
to strike one’s spirit with fear and dread
to render anxious or distressed
via Tarasso – New Testament Greek Lexicon – King James Version.

But how, YESHUA, the Disciples might have been thinking. How can I be not disturbed when You have told us You are leaving? You have just said that Peter is going to deny You before daybreak.

How can you and I not be disturbed? How can our equanimity not evaporate in this world? Yesterday’s media was filled with news of the terrorist attack in Boston. Is that and a host of other things not grounds for being disturbed? Actually to the flesh yes it is!  BUT GOD.

YESHUA said:

14 “. . .Trust in God and trust in me.
via John 14 KJV;CJB – Let not your heart be troubled: ye – Bible Gateway.

John 16:33 “I have said these things to you so that, united with me, you may have shalom [peace]. In the world, you have tsuris [trouble]. But be brave! I have conquered the world!”
via John 16 KJV;CJB – These things have I spoken unto you, – Bible Gateway. [bracket added- mine]

Choose to TRUST. And believe me, it takes practice but more than that it takes the HOLY SPIRIT within to make it happen and He will as we choose to TRUST. Sometimes it is moment by moment.

I have more good news! Alyssa is back to a normal 10-year-old!! Even had a friend over for a sleepover recently!  Praise the LORD with me for what HE has done for Alyssa and her family. And give HIM praise for skilled doctors and staff!!

Be Hidden in CHRIST,

Thank You, ABBA, for what You did for Alyssa and her family. Thank You. And HOLY SPIRIT, it is my prayer that Alyssa will give You glory, will love You, and honor and TRUST You always; she and her family.
Terrorist attacks, ABBA. Did not take You by surprise. We acknowledge sin has so corrupted Your World; have mercy and forgive us; thank You that THE DAY is coming when You will set all things right. In the meantime, we choose to TRUST You. Thank You for helping us do that. And for the families of the dead, we pray for help and comfort; for the injured, we pray for healing. Thank You, HOLY SPIRIT, for being right there giving comfort and help and yes even protection and safety. Thank You for the thousands who were not injured or killed. And, ABBA, I ask You to expose and bring to arrest those who did this. The TEXT is a good lesson for today, ABBA. Thank You. Let us not forfeit our equanimity but rather TRUST You always; Your perfect love and holiness. We continue to ask for healing for Jamie and Terri and Lance and help and comfort for their families. And there are others we enintrust to You whose names we hold in our hearts; there are tasks to do, help us do them well for Your glory. Amen and amen in Your MIGHTY Name LORD YESHUA.

Say the Same

2 Timothy 1

14 Keep safe the great treasure that has been entrusted to you, with the help of the Ruach HaKodesh, [HOLY SPIRIT] who lives in us.

via 2 tim 1 KJV;CJB – Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the – Bible Gateway. [in brackets – mine]

In our Text Paul was instructing Timothy to keep safe the great treasure entrusted to him. What was that great treasure?

Let us turn to 2 Corinthians 4, we will find additional light there.

2 Corinthians 4:6-8

6 For it is the God who once said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” who has made his light shine in our hearts, the light of the knowledge of God’s glory shining in the face of the Messiah Yeshua.
7 But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it will be evident that such overwhelming power comes from God and not from us.

via 2 Corinthians 4:6-8 KJV;CJB – For God, who commanded the light to – Bible Gateway.

The faith you have that JESUS is the CHRIST; your Savior, the Savior of the world is a GIFT. A most precious gift; a treasure.  Guard your treasure.  Keep the faith!! At ALL cost keep THE FAITH. The HOLY SPIRIT will help you – lean on Him; submit to Him. Words for you. Words for me.

And as Paul was wrapping up the Words given him by the HOLY SPIRIT to write to Timothy and to us, he said:

2 Timothy 4

7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

via 2 Timothy 4:7 KJV;CJB – I have fought a good fight, I have – Bible Gateway.

May we in truth when the time comes, say the same.

Be Hidden in CHRIST,

Thank You, ABBA, for speaking. Thank You for illuminating us. Thank You for giving and preserving Your Word even to this generation. Help us to hid Your Word in our hearts so we will be able to share It with the world in JESUS’ name.
And as other times we come with our requests for healing(s) of those we name now in our hearts. And we lift all our cares to You and we thank You for providing wisdom, solutions, provisions, and every good and perfect gift we need to do this life well. Thank You, ABBA Father.

Anybody?

1 John 1:21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

via 1 John 1:8-10 KJ21;CJB – If we say that we have no sin, we – Bible Gateway.

Anybody just want to say thank You for this truth?!

and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness?

Anybody getting this with me? Repentance and confession = CLEAN!

And those mercies for cleansing are new this morning (Lamentations 3:21-23) and late at night too! :)

Be Hidden in CHRIST,

ABBA, thank You for Your mercy that cleanses us from ALL unrighteousness. Thank You that Your Blood, LORD JESUS, is enough to cleanse the chief of sinners. Thank You that You answer our prayers; and thank You that sometimes Your answer is No.
Thank You that Jamie is home eating and enjoying her family. Still we ask that You heal her; that chemo be successful with minimal side effects. And I ask this for Terri too. Lift up the families of these I pray. Thank You that Dylan is doing so much better. I pray for continued healing and a full recovery soon. Heal Leon too I pray. And I am continuing to ask for miracles of needed kinds for Others and Kerri. Dori. Lance, Adalynn, Alyssa. Anna. And for Debbie – textbook perfect surgery on Wednesday and a full recovery I pray. And just general stuff for families – life seems really hard, ABBA, help us to be not despondent and discouraged but rather believe You for victory for our children and grandchildren. And, ABBA, I pray for kindness in the CHURCH and help for grieving parents – The Warrens particularly come to mind. And, ABBA, Another comes to mind and I ask You to comfort her. Many troubles, all around; we just ask for help to live victoriously – cleansed of all our unrighteousness for JESUS sake. And I would not forget Israel: peace, protection and the subduing of her enemies I pray. And for America, my first request is that You pour out HOLY SPIRIT conviction and that a wave of repentance would sweep this land from shore to shore.

Pebbles

A word from a Sister-Friend used by permission:

This morning as I awoke this raced through my brain:  “Crushing Satan’s Pebbles”.  Didn’t know why or exactly what it meant.  Maybe a good sermon title?

As I pondered it over, these thoughts followed:  we recognize those big boulders or mountains that Satan can put into our paths to make us stumble or veer off the path, but do we even begin to recognize and deal properly with those little tiny pebbles.  Those little pebbles are there to annoy us, pain us a little bit, steal our joy, or even make our minds wander where they shouldn’t.  They are like a grain of sand in our shoes that irritates us as we walk.  We are eager to remove the shoe and get the sand out.  We need to be so in tune with God that we will recognize the “pebbles” and eagerly ask God to remove them from us, protecting us from the potential dangers.  Zippy

I think my Sister heard a Word for herself and many of us. Like she said we are eager, we can’t wait to get that shoe off and get that sand out.

Got any little pebbles (sins) to rid from your shoes (walk) today?

Song of Solomon 2

15 “Catch the foxes for us, yes, the little foxes!
They are ruining the vineyards when our vineyards are in bloom!”

via Song of Solomon 2:14-16 KJV;CJB – O my dove, that art in the clefts of – Bible Gateway.

Be Hidden in CHRIST,

I see it, ABBA. I understand and Thank You. Thank You for my Sister. Thank You for this Word to her and thank You that she shared it with me and that I can share it here. I pray this Word will do all that You plan, for as long as You desire. I pray for us to recognize the pebbles and be as eager to get rid of the sins in our lives as we are to get sand from our shoes. Forgive us. We are an insensitive people when it comes to our own sins.We dismiss the ones we deem small and pride ourselves that we don’t do the ones we think are big. Forgive us and help us, ABBA. HOLY SPIRIT, bless us with conviction, conviction too strong, too loud or perhaps too quiet and too steady for us to ignore. Help us repent. Some people and situations are coming to mind. And I am reminded that all things are possible with You; I’m glad about that because these things feel impossible; but I am asking. Asking for Your Light to come on in hearts and for caring people to be steeped in wisdom. Help us be not overwhelmed with all the troubles of this life; with the illness and disease; with poverty of spirit; with hunger and lack of hunger; with sexual slavery; with hard heart-ed rebellion; it often seems endless; let us not be defeated but rather arise in victory with our Savior. We dare not forget to pray for healing-s for these, physical and otherwise, for Jamie. Dylan. Dori. Kerri. Lance. Adalynn. Carol. Donnie. Terri & family. and Others. All Others that Readers bring here with them in prayer. And for each who reads or visits this page, I pray for them to know the beauty of Your Presence and for them to rest in Your Grace and Your strength, finding You sufficient in all things.
