Jasper, Alberta Canada

Thursday. March 1, 2012

World Evangelism Praying day for me.  A new place. Picked randomly. Trusting that GOD is leading the choice. What place on planet earth does not need prayer? What people do not need petitions lifted to the Throne of Grace on their behalf even by an unknown woman in lower Alabama?

Jasper, Alberta Canada

From my very limited research thus far it is a beautiful place; less than 5,000 people living there. Rustic and pristine are some of the words I have read to describe Her

Rustic and pristine — hmm.

I know the definition but checked free dictionary dot-com anyway, wondering if I could apply those words for some helpful insight.

Rustic:

1. of, characteristic of, or living in the country; rural

2. having qualities ascribed to country life or people; simple; unsophisticated rustic pleasures

3. crude, awkward, or uncouth

4. made of untrimmed branches a rustic seat

5. (Fine Arts & Visual Arts / Furniture) denoting or characteristic of a style of furniture popular in England in the 18th and 19th centuries, in which the legs and feet of chairs, tables, etc., were made to resemble roots, trunks, and branches of trees

6. (Fine Arts & Visual Arts / Architecture) (of masonry) having a rusticated finish

having qualities ascribed to country life or people; simple; unsophisticated rustic pleasures  — Not a distasteful description, if you ask the right persons.  I know some wonderful people who are simple, unsophisticated, and it is a pleasure and privilege to enjoy their company and fellowship.  Perhaps even I would be fortunate enough to be this kind of rustic.

Pristine:

a. Remaining in a pure state; uncorrupted by civilization.

b. Remaining free from dirt or decay; clean: pristine mountain snow.

2. Of, relating to, or typical of the earliest time or condition; primitive or original.

Oh wouldn’t I love to be that: uncorrupted by civilization

But alas,  only one fits this description:  JESUS CHRIST the Righteous!

And for sure, for sure the people of Jasper, Alberta Canada (and every other place), rustic, sophisticated, wealthy, or in poverty; all need someone to seek the Pristine JESUS on their behalf.

Would you like to join me in this prayer endeavor for the month of March?  I hope you will. It would be an honor and a pleasure to serve the people of Jasper alongside you in prayer.

Happy Thursday, my Friends!

Praying (PFT)!

We have the Right to do right in this wrong World,

Revelation 21:
18 And the wall was built of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,
20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.

Talk about PRISTINE!!  :)

Evening

Just thinking about you all on this rainy late afternoon. It was a light the candles day; not sure why, just was.  I particularly enjoyed this one as the day turned to evening.  And I remarked to myself: “Just a little light makes a big shine in a dark place.”

2 Corinthians 4:6
21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
via 2 Corinthians 4:6 KJ21 – For God, who commanded the light to – Bible Gateway.

Matthew 5:16
King James Version (KJV)
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
via Matthew 5:16 KJV – Let your light so shine before men, – Bible Gateway.

Be seen in Sunday School in the morning – you just don’t know whose day you will LIGHT up.

Love and HIM

Oh that today, Valentine’s Day, would be a celebration of love all across America.  Real, lasting, faithful, true, and holy love.
Oh that today love would be pledged to the Greatest Lover of Eternity – JESUS CHRIST, the Righteous.
If ever One deserved to be loved it is HIM.
If ever One was a true and faithful lover it is HIM.

And if ever we as mortals want to give and receive real, lasting, faithful, true, and holy love we will FIRST give our love to HIM so we will have love to give to them.

John 3:16 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
16″For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
via John 3:16 KJ21 – For God so loved the world that He gave – Bible Gateway.

There will be a lot of giving TO each other today (and that’s a good thing) but it’s the giving of one’s self FOR another that makes it LOVE.

I Corinthians 13: 3-7 The Message Bible
If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back, But keeps going to the end.

Borrowing

I am borrowing from YouVersion.com, a reading plan that I am following.  It’s Draw Near – 365 Guides to Greater Intimacy with God. Yesterday’s was so good I want to share it with you for our Wednesday time together.

LIBERATED

Michelangelo saw the task of the sculptor as that of freeing figures from their marble prisons. In each block of stone, he saw some “person” then chipped away until that form emerged. Sometimes he failed, as with St. Matthew. This famous statue is only half-finished because Michelangelo could not get the stone to release the figure of the brilliant apostle.

Paul saw God as the Sculptor Who frees men from the prison of their carnal nature. He wrote to the Philippians that God was doing a great work in and on their lives and encouraged them to have confidence in His work. He assured the new believers that God is perfectly capable of “finishing” us as He desires, for His (and our) greatest good. This Master Sculptor never gives up, and no prison is too strong for His skilled eye and learned hand.

In yielding ourselves to the direction of the Master, we are being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God (Philippians 1:11). All believers should remember that today’s bumps and bruises may merely be the Master chiseling, working away at our lives until we are conformed to the image of His Son. Thus we relax, even though the chisel may bite, for we know His work is sure and the result well worth the moment’s inconvenience.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
