The more evil we see acted out on the stage of life, politically, emotionally, financially, morally, and in the spiritual realm, the more we must walk in the law of the LORD.

Mark 12:29-31 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
29 Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD;
30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’
31 The second is this, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

OUR GOD REIGNS,

Just Some Thoughts

I so wish I could think of something fun and light to write to you tonight to greet you in the morning. It’s been a serious week with weighty matters bearing on our souls. Even so we are a blessed people and this evening I am counting my many, many blessings.

The house is quiet this evening, no TV and hubby is not three feet away click, click clicking his mouse, making lines and squares – he’s drawing.  He amazes me. Perhaps he is underestimated from time to time. He has much knowledge and wisdom stored in that gray matter beneath his tousled grey hair. Does that sound like I am rather fond of him? I am.

Perhaps I will make this short tonight so I can finish God’s Guest List by Debbie Macomber. If so it would mean two books read in the month of January.  Last week I finished Forest Man by J. Steve Biggs and absolutely loved it. God’s Guest List is working me, have tons of notes with changes I am asking the HOLY SPIRIT to work in me. Forest Man was pure entertainment. It’s okay to read for pure entertainment you know — I think I should do it more often.

How about you – what are you reading?  Certainly Scripture. That is a given. No son or daughter of The KING should fail to read a portion of His love letter to us every day.  I told my Sunday School class that one verse meditated upon, prayed over and put into living was of far more value than reading two or three chapters and straightaway forget what you read.

Just some thoughts.

When we gather at our screens in the morning, know you are loved and appreciated.

Jeremiah 31:3 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
3 The LORD appeared to him from afar, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.

How Do You Read It?

My Bible was open on my desk. I looked down and began to read without turning a page.

Habakkuk 2.

I read it in the NASB. In the Message Bible. In the New Living Translation. In all three, the message is the same  – the Nation that forgets God is doomed to destruction.

3 “For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.
via Hab 2 NASB – God Answers the Prophet – I will stand – Bible Gateway.

Choose your translation and tell me what you see.  Particularly in the New Living Translation, verse 12 do you think of Planned Parenthood (and abortion mill ‘physicians’) getting rich on the blood of aborted babies? In verse 4 do you see politicians?

In verse 1 of the NASB do you see us standing guard; waiting to hear from ABBA; waiting to hear what directives He will give us to aid in the rescue those who will listen? I did. And I wonder when I will act instead of just talk (and write).

These Are Mine

to meditate on today (yesterday too) and perhaps tomorrow.  Which are yours?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

16 Rejoice always;
17 pray without ceasing;
18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
via I Th 5:16-18 NASB – Rejoice always pray without ceasing in – Bible Gateway

For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus – He is not talking about that sickness or lack or burden, any of that –His will is for me (for you) to rejoice and pray and give thanks even in sickness or lack or burden as I wait for Him to get me (and you) through to the other side of it. Our ABBA is not the author of evil; however, in His infinite wisdom and perfect love He does allow it for a season. Why? One day we will know. Until then we will trust Him. We will believe and receive His love and His wisdom. That is we do and will if we want to please Him and keep our sanity.

It is rainy in lower Alabama today but HIS face is shining upon us.
